Nope, however it proves authenticity when dealing with disputes such as download tracking, and so fourth.
Wouldn't make sense to not do it via an encrypted solution.
I know this is not the place, but gosh now I'm interested. How is the encryption presented to the user? Is it simply HTTPS, or do you actually provide download keys?

Aha, we've all had issues when a client tries to defer the software provided, so hey ho why not have a nice panel that will give you an edge on the case, and yeah there's a few things we can do, secret key which would be provided via a One time secret provided with their link, and sure, https would be encrypted you could say, but yeah
