Feedback on server "Typor"

A couple months ago I made a thread stating I would be willing to help servers out
(when released) as staff.
Typor owners contacted me, signed me up, and gave me mod.
Today (while sleeping) I was randomly demoted, no word on why I was demoted, no reasoning, message, etc. Just straight up kick from the staff discord and demoted on the main from Jr.Mod to "old staff" I didn't resign - just an fyi.

I also joined in on their "check this message off if you're active" which happened almost every 48 hours. Including the 5+ pings a day, and overall 2 group meetings that ended up waking me up on my phone. No, I can not just 'turn' my phone off; reason being my dad had leg surgery and needs to use supports to help walk around. If he falls (While i'm asleep) or needs me to make his coffee, he will need a way to call me and, wake me up.
I have also contacted discord about why i'm still receiving call notifications including sound when I have it so no one can add to me groups/discords unless they friend me first + cannot message me unless friends. (This is a discord bug on my end and I'm not surprised honestly)

Typor was a waste of my time and was not worth the 2 wake up calls.

oof, I wouldn't bother with this server either way, Owner seems like he is a dick and wants everything his way. Gonna die most likely. It's hard to build up a server if you're not known or have connections. Good luck though!

It may not have been very nice to just demote and kick you without any notice, but as server owner(s) they're well within their rights to do so. Not much you can do about that. I honestly wouldn't want to work for a Minecraft server expecting that much activity from me anyway. Unless they're paying me by the hour.

As for your notifications: That's just bullshit. You can easily disable notifications per app and still be available to anyone that needs to be able to reach you 24/7. Even if your Discord app is bugged, your OS (android or w/e that apple crap uses) can still just force silence an app.

Don't get me wrong, I disagree with the way they treated you (if that's exactly how it went, I wasn't there), but I'd just move on and let it rest. Your frustrations over this only makes it that much more amusing to them.

Before you start talking about others, please learn to behave professional and learn what "Managers" are.

This has nothing to do with managers? This thread is about the server, and owner. I'll give you a hint; I talked to other people within the Typor discord community and there are staff waiting to resign. So have fun with that

I know it doesn't but I would have to agree with the Typor thingy, I personally think that it isn't worth wasting time as they revamped their Staff Team a bunch of times. However just wanted to mention that before you start talking negatively about the server consider your behaviour.

All I did was click activity check, check up on staff chat in the discord and progress of the server, check the main discord server for discord-rule breakers, clear any notifications on any channels in both discords. The only thing I did differently today is wake up super late and found out I was kicked from the staff discord, demoted on the main, and apparently It was all because I had changed my discord settings; which like said. The owner thought I had blocked him without even trying to send me a friend request. If he really needed to talk to me, he would have done so, and when I woke up I would have added him, and asked if I could help him.

Yes, I will admit we may have done this in a bad way, but once more as I clarified in the channel that you had not communicated with us in anyway, I and the other managers had no idea what you were up to, you never told us about the things you were getting dmed, you never told us why you were on private, I don't add all of my staff members, yes I should sometimes but at certain times I don't believe I need to. With me being disrespectful I don't believe I was in a way, I wasn't trying to come off as rude. You called your self a Jr. Mod when you were a Sr. showing that you don't even know what position you had, I get that you're angry but you're hiding the key details I responded with. I actually care about my staff team but when I asked you to do key things such as give your opinion on this:

Honestly, to me this is an internal matter. I wasn't there so who am I to judge? I've been staff on extremely large servers myself for more than a year. If I were to spew everything that happened over there, I might as well write a book, lol. I mean, the Sr Staff / Owners over there were very friendly. Only problem was that they talked a lot, just hardly took any real action.

That being said: Personally I think it's unreasonable to expect 24 or 48 hour checkups for activity. Unless you pay someone for their time, you can't have expectations comparable to real jobs. Not saying you should let anyone just come and go as they please. That wouldn't work either. But you should be a bit lenient in this matter. Besides, who knows what happened? Some staff member might've been in an accident in real life and therefor unable to check in / let you know what's going on.

But that's all just my opinion. It's your server and you run it the way you want to. As long as you're clear about your expectations and intentions up front, it's everyone's own choice to accept those or not. Shouldn't complain about that afterwards.

I see where you are coming from but at the same time, you have to understand not everyone is able to stick to a server without having things to do, I staff on a server and that said I have my fair shares of people being disrespectful and the manners this was handled in should have not been pushed out as is. You should at least tried to get a hold of her, instead of assuming things, I understand you guys are starting and I completely agree that people should be able to have contact thats why big servers mostly use other type of platforms like, telegram. Easier method of getting in contact with people. Just understand how that made you look. I agree with what you are doing but try to understand the situation, maybe apologise to eachother, and try to work things out, sadly it resulted in much worse. Good luck with the server, and just next time try to understand people have lives and can't be stuck to the server. They are helping without being paid be more supportive to your staff. One means you're newer, one means your older; that could bring along promotions, demotions, etc. (I personally dislike staff/ranks that include JR and SR. As it's just confusing and more work to read. It's another reason why I don't pay attention to them)

2. Like said, you never bothered to even TRY to add me and assumed I had blocked you right off the bat, which is the worse thing you can automatically do. To take it off text, that's like saying because I'm holding a bloody knife, I had stabbed someone.

3. I had responded to a fair amount of these "click to check if your active" things, this isn't going to mean I'm going to respond to all 2-5 of them a week. Considering the server WASN'T and ISN'T up, I don't see why I would HAVE TO be SO active in the discord.

4. As stated, I was asleep when the demotion happened. Before I went to bed? I took hot chocolate and medication while watching youtube. Before that? I was working on my own server. Before that? I went to the bathroom and etc; now you know. One-recent activity check I didn't end up making because I was doing my own thing;which included real life stuff (Just in case you didn't know I do stuff in real life too) was one of the reasons to my demotion.

5. I had at least 2 other staff members who spoke up for me, and 2 who where nice enough to add me, contact me, and respond to me. The only thing you could do was tell me I got demoted (in the public Typor discord) didn't want to argue about it, and that was that.

6. As far as your little "I love getting view points" I did 1/2 of them. Not even a month later (couple days ago) I was asked to pretty much do the exact same thing. With no server up or open, I don't see why I should have. I'm more of a hands-on person and wont give a 5 star rating to a taxi driver/uber I've never taken, for example.

The thread will be never much kept here encase anyone has the brains to look up Typor online before applying for staff, maybe they will think twice.

1. The role purposes of a Senior and Junior are VERY different here, if you read the staff documents [Which you should have], the purpose of the senior on my server is to watch over the lower staff and communicate with them.

2. I assumed that, because as a server owner I've had experiences where the person just resigns, and blocks me, it's happened multiple times across Typor's life-span.

3. We want our staff to be active because the initial release is in 2 weeks, we want to make sure you are all caught up and if you need anything to let us know, that's the purpose of these checks to make sure that you can handle all the new information that we may or may not post.

4. Like I said, we had 0 communication on what you do and your activity times, yes I could've been more open and ask questions but that's my fault, I always respond to my dms in about 5-6 hours time and I didn't have on record your timezone, I was recently about to do that and I should've asked you.

As I said in my response to her 6 reasons, but yes now I realize that there could be a way of no contact but we had no way of knowing that, and her discord status was online and sadly I didn't log her timezone which I will admit is a mistake on me. I've had many similar cases where something of the sort happens to someone right after it happened to someone else; in this case I am hoping to save people from wasting their time on something if it's just going to repeat itself.
