I would wait and get some more $ so you can buy a better car that would be able to last for longer and that you like more.[DOUBLEPOST=1523790135][/DOUBLEPOST]I mean with 1k you cant get a good car to travel with or drive for a while.[DOUBLEPOST=1523790201][/DOUBLEPOST]If you need the car for work that is close or family i would suggest waiting or buying a car you already like if you want to do another job that is far away from you'r home i would suggest getting a better car and first getting some money.

aye, if you can find a Subaru WRX in second hand they run anywhere (I start driving this year) Although my dad owns a 2017 WRX, and it runs like a beast, although thats way outa your budget.

Try get any Subaru, they are amazing anywhere.

Vauxhall astra will be a good choice for your first car. (fairly reliable and reasonably cheap maintenance) My advice would be not to go for "too good to be true" deals and save a bit extra money for unexpected emergencies/repairs. Also keep in mind insurance costs...I know it's quite a lot for you guys in UK.

Subaru with max 1400cc engine might not live up to your expectations (Honestly I'm not sure there are many subarus with such small engines) Insurance in UK for 2.5l engine will be sky high, especially if driver will be the guy who just got drivers license.
