Hey mcm, today is my first shift working at mcdonalds and im super nervous, to the point where I would just not go and give up, I'm working on the cash register with customers and that's the total opposite of what I wanted to do, I wanted to work in the kitchen but for some reason I got this. This is my first training shift and a little advice would be great from anyone with this experience or works at maccas.

Thanks in advance

It's going to be a little confusing and overwhelming at first, but just slow down and focus. Make sure to count change etc. It's a bitch to come up short. Customers will piss you off and be absolutely ridiculous, but just play it cool. Good luck :)

It's really not that bad, you're going to mess up a couple times and even sometimes have no idea what the customer is talking about. I work at Wendy's. Most first timers who can speak English get placed there to learn the ropes of everything else, front counter cashier is going to be the easiest part of the job (as long as that's the only thing you're doing). Eventually you'll be taught other positions which are pretty easy too, the only hard/tiring position really is drive thru. But you're working at McDonald's with automatic drink machines and other people taking orders for you. At Wendy's if you're working drive thru you have to take orders, make drinks, exchange cash, and give them the food because the company is retarded. So you have it pretty easy when it comes to there, it'll just take a little bit of time (couple weeks) and you won't be making many mistakes and you'll know the place pretty decently. The management is going to go easy on you either way, they will be understanding unless you're retarded. Good luck!
Worked in Wendy's drive thru for a year can confirm. I was the main person on drive thru every shift because I was one the only people who spoke fluent english
