Fix the reputation system!

The reputation system is so broken, Reputations should be based on a good or service provided by a user, Instead, People are negative reputing because they disagree with eachother, Share different beliefs, Have had a bad experience with a user or any other stupid reason. Because of these stupid reasons for neg reps, People like myself, Haven't been making enough business, Which can affect people who rely on MC-Market as an income to pay bills and put food in their cabinets. My suggestion, Either make reputations based around goods and services OR make new reputation categories like Service Reputation and Social Reputation.

The reputation system is trying to put two things into one. One thing being other user's feelings about another and one being actual reputability or trust. With it being like this, there's not good way to put one in one place and the other in another place. We would need two systems and I think that with the age of the current system it would be difficult to separate the two.

You won't. Mick has said MANY times the reputation system will not be changed. And they can't change it.

Just to clarify, I have said many times that the reputation system isn’t going to be for deals only, it simply won’t work. Before Sako joined the site we had the rep system for just deals and it ended up having to be removed. I am looking into and considering possible fixes to the reputation system over the coming weeks and hope to make minor improvements to the system so that it works better, but we won’t be making any major changes to it I don’t think.

Justis wrote an excellent response to this suggestion in the past I remmeber, I’ll see if I can find it.

Don't you think if many people are feeling passionate enough to post about this, then maybe it's time to reconsider the fidelity of the argument? Constructive criticisms are always a better talking point than "Please stop."

Perhaps you could have deconstructed why it wasn't going to work, or even just referenced the numerous other posts that tried to achieve this same goal.
