Personally, I've seen that the policy that if you don't respond within 24 hours, you automatically get banned for your own fault of not trying to fix the problem.

However I can imagine people snipe to make a scam report if someone's off on a vacation.

So what I think should be added which not only helps the suspect but the reporter himself too. We should allow that the person to have as much time to respond to the scam report (first message that is) as old the "scam is".

For example lets say Bob scams Steve. And Steve decides to open a scam report 3 days later. Bob should have 3 days to respond because Steve has delayed to make the scam report.

Why would we want the scam report not to be delayed? Because then it gives more accurate information and can solve everything much easier and gives the suspect a little more time to answer, rather than being banned for not saying a single word. This also makes the scammed user have a less reason to drag on the whole shit. We want it to be done asap, right?

Some bad things are :

-If you send in a scam report really late, the scammer has more time to scam others and will simply not reply
-It stresses out the scammed user even more after being scammed to have to urgently send in a scam report

Just a suggestion. Not sure if it's worth it, but some time or thinking could be put into this because I feel like having to wait 24 hours is pretty short because anyone could be busy right then. But then again we expect you to be active.

Otherwise I believe that those who haven't had a time to reply to their scam report should be given a specific date to arrange it. If that scammer really thinks he's innocent.

The longer a scam report is open the greater the chances that individual is scamming more users. Not thanks.

Firstly, from a Regular Member I expect common sense.

I wanted one because your suggestion revolves around more time.
Report was filed on Tuesday.
Member was last seen on February 19th, 2016.

For your kind and information, the current date is July 8th, 2016. I sent the Skype Username under the Profile a request, no reply - seems like a goner to me.

User Banned,
Report Closed.

There are exceptions on when to close or end a report. So me giving 3-4 days for a reply is ridiculous. I give 48 hours for a first reply, if there is enough proof to claim they scammed - case closed.

Got it?
There are no exceptions. A Scam Resolver should be treating all reports the same way. Give the same amount of time for a response as you would anyone else. Don't allow one member less time to reply than you would give someone else. Likewise, don't give a member more time to respond than you would give others.

The longer a scam report is open the greater the chances that individual is scamming more users. Not thanks.
If they are scamming another user, that user isn't doing their homework to see there's an open scam report. So, first o all, shame on that user for not doing their homework.

That being said, if a scam report is opened longer and the person is actually intending to scam multiple users, it's probably already happened or in the process of happening. A ban isn't going to change what's already happened.

Not only that. But the user could make false evidence. I seen a lot of people make fake PayPal Pictures and chat logs just from photoshop. So stalling is not a very good option. Or they are just trying to gather up good excuses.
This isn't a good argument. It doesn't take that long to fake evidence. Besides, if something is fake, the other party should be able to counter it. Therefore, this isn't a problem.

We do not "limit" or "lock" an account once the Scam Report is opened as the proof can be faked. That's a reason why there is such a "tight" or "strict" time limit.

Reduces the chance of them pulling another scam. Now you are suggesting to increase the time limit, if the current status of Scam Reports is going perfectly fine - explain why in the world would you want to take the risk of changing it.

24 hours is more than enough time. If the member even cared he/she would look on the forums more and there emails. After that it's there fault they are banned.
The current time limit is 48 hours for majority Scam Reports.

For the record, we allow 48 hours. Not sure if that was mentioned directly, but someone accused of scamming in a scam report has at least 48 hours to respond, not 24.

I agree, I think 3 days should be the standard wait time, either that or you send email notification to the accused.
