Good or bad idea for a company?

So the idea around the company would be a massive pre-made shop for all sorts of things like art and building. Creators could request there content to be posted in our "shop" and would get a percentage of the sale each time someone buys it.
Creators meaning artist, builders, etc
Content meaning the art, the build, etc

Its kinda like a service company but everything just already made and you can pick and choose what you want. The hope is lots of creators use our service and post there content. At that point, it's almost semi-exclusive content because there would be so many different kinds of content available and constantly new content rolling in. It's completely free for creators to post it so why wouldn't they?

If this sounds like a good idea and someone maybe wants to start it with me let me know! Thanks for all the feedback in advance.

UPDATE:

So people would apply in #apply to put their product somewhere in one of our shops. customers would go to #start and click on what they need, Ex: Art. Then the art shop would show up for them. They would scroll through the channel and react on the art they want to buy. Our custom bot would automatically make a ticket with the creator who is selling that product. Thoughts?

Pretty sure SchematicStore already does something like this with builds and that worked out for them.

So it would really be kind of the same thing as McMarket resource page, but a website just dedicated to that?

Yea I'd say so... Not a bad way of putting it. But I'd like to stay more Minecraft server related. So Minecraft buycraft icons and server icons, server banners (maybe), server pre-made setups, pre-made spawns/builds, etc. It probably even include a place to hire staff.

I think doing a marketplace would be fine, but don't include things like hiring staff. Just leave it how you're wanting with just the resources. Otherwise I feel it can get a little out of hand.

As a creator (plugin developer), I think you're going to need to have a decently popular platform in order to justify taking a percentage of profits from other peoples work. I'm not saying its a bad idea, I'm just saying, people can release their paid resources on this website or on others (spigot) and not pay any commission.

Good point but look at service's. They have a simple discord with a custom made bot and some take like %15 of the sale. But yet theres about 100 of them on this website. The website were creators could post there work and service for free

True.
People will do it even if you take a big percentage of their profits; for advertisement basically.
It'll be like fiverr but just for minecraft​

I cannot speak much about all the things mentioned but I guess the same principle applies... there has been numerous attempts at starting build shops like Schematic Store and none has really come close to Schematic Store success. They did a lot of things right. Pushed for quality (there are tons of low quality shops but Schematic Store keeps their standards high), offered great products and had lots of traffic.

Website traffic is probably the most important factor because there is no point for creator to dedicate time and effort to upload his/her products if there is a tiny chance for any revenue at all. You mentioned there would be tons of content and constantly new content rolling in, for this you would need lots of creators all willing to upload their content and constantly work on new content but without revenue content creators won't dedicate time to create/upload new content to your marketplace.

And I personally don't feel like discord is the best place to properly display products... Overall I don't think this would get far unfortunately...
