Got scammed what should I do now...

A person called Thumb messaged me saying that he would like to sell his agai.io account to me, and we made a deal. However, when I paid him the price we agreed on he give me the email that the account was "linked" to but the password didn't work. I messaged back several times telling him that the password didn't work but he never responded. It has been more than 9 hours since I told him that the account didn't work, and he has been active before I sent him that message, so I'm sure I have just gotten scammed.

The person that scammed me has +17 rep.

The scammed amount is $20

Does charge back work on a limted paypal? I paid with a credit card.

Reporting only gets him banned. Try chargeback first.

I would file a goods and services dispute and see what they say about it. Provide as much proof as possible. If he doesn't respond to it you automatically win. Since you paid with your credit card and not paypal balance, you can actually go directly to your bank and file a chargeback through your card. Paypal will require help the user fight it but that is a last resort if you lose your chargeback.

#3 If those above are not applicable, suck it up and remember that the MCM community is toxic and it happens sometimes.

You did the right thing, You have to wait for the user to respond and if he doesn't respond you will automatically get refunded. You will most likely win as long as you have actual evidence. It should refund you in 1-2 weeks.

If they create a new account, they will be banned. Their rep will be tainted unless they create a new alias. But the best bet is the chargeback.

Now all I can do is hope for the best for my $20. It nice to know that there is a good helpful community here despite of the scammers.
