Gravatar was a thing when I ran the forum however I ended up removing it.

I removed it for several reasons:
  • Slowing down loading speeds
  • Gravatar had some downtime back in the day causing many avatars to not be available
  • Data collection. Gravatar collects and stores some data about forum users which I personally don't think is necessary.
The service overall is unnecessary and most users are capable of uploading a picture just fine. If you can't be bothered to change your avatar on here, you probably shouldn't be using the forum anyways considering that gives me the impression you don't care about it.
