Happy Veterans Day to all those who served in our war. Thanks for keeping all of us safe. *salutes*

Other countries might call it something different but I'm living in the USA. :p

I buy about 10 poppies every year for remembrance day.
Been watching Band Of Brothers all day, along with all the documentaries on TV.

I had my poppy for Remembrance Sunday in the UK for remembering the fallen soldiers.

Donated to help for heroes which is a charity that provides support for soldiers who come back from war and need treatment, physically or psychologically. Some need wheelchairs etc and this charity helps them.

Anyway, political views aside, thank you for posting this thread and happy veterans day nonetheless!

Do you guys also call it Veterans Day in the UK?

Atleast in Canada it's Remembrance Day.
However US kids call it Veterans day
because they think vets are just people
and you don't REMEMBER them

I thought memorial days nickname was remembrance day. I'm not doing any research just basing off peoples messages.

Veterans Day is an official United States public holiday, observed annually on November 11, that honors military veterans, that is, persons who served in the United States Armed Forces.

Remembrance Day (sometimes known as Poppy Day) is a memorial day observed in Commonwealth of Nations member states since the end of the First World War to remember the members of their armed forces who have died in the line of duty. Following a tradition inaugurated by King George V in 1919,[1] the day is also marked by war remembrances in many non-Commonwealth countries. Remembrance Day is observed on 11 November in most countries to recall the end of hostilities of World War I on that date in 1918. Hostilities formally ended "at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month", in accordance with the armistice signed by representatives of Germany and the Entente between 5:12 and 5:20 that morning. ("At the 11th hour" refers to the passing of the 11th hour, or 11:00 am.) The First World War officially ended with the signing of the Treaty of Versailles on 28 June 1919.[2]

Veterans are the best. My Dad got sent to Iraq when I was 6 and I've had the privledge to know a lot of his friends he served with. Mostly though, I'd like to dedicate my Veteran's Day to one of my lifelong friend's brothers who unfortunely was KIA in Afghanistan in 2011 (I believe). He was a Marine and a God fearing man and I'd give anything for him to be back with his family. May peace be given to all the fallen Veterans and may God bless the ones fortunate to be with us today.
