Help a man learning Java :^)

Hi,

So, i do wish to learn Java. I know it takes a lot of time, and that it is not just something that can be done within a week or so. I know it takes months, years. All i'm asking for here, is to tell me what program i have to download, and how i basically start the fresh "site" where i can start coding. Because i've seen some YT videos, and apparently when i download those they also download, mine is somehow a updated version, and by that i cannot follow up what the fuck i have to do.

I hope some sick dev's can help me out here :^)

No, it was learn basic principles of Java before trying, it was merely advice but I will not get into a contention with you, I wish you the best of luck on your Journeys.

A lot of these java tutorials were made like 3-5 years ago on older versions of java. Does that really matter because I don't want to learn to code something outdated. Thanks

I used this - http://tutorialspoint.com/java/ and I bought a course of UDEMY for £10, and it taught me the basis, just as long as you can keep focused on track you'll succeed.

Thanks. I've watched about a dozen or so tutorials but they're more 'copying what they type' than actually understanding what it means
