My computer, it was lagging a lot, and I couldn't shut it down manually, so i flipped the power supply, and unplugged. now when i turn the computer on, the fans and stuff spin, but nothing on screen happens. And for some inexplicable reason my mouse lights up but my keyboard doesn't. Did I fry my mobo?

Try taking out your GPU and repeating above steps and see if it gives any POST.

I'd also triple check everything your power supply cable that goes into your CPU.
Alright, will do.

Yes. As I said something wrong with like the HDMI socket or USB socket.[DOUBLEPOST=1458856099][/DOUBLEPOST]Try switching USB sockets with keyboard and mouse and see if it lights up.
its not, i tried switching them, same thing. I also tried plugging in my keyboard to another device and it worked.

There's no point in having his mouse or keyboard work if he's getting nothing on his screen.

Leave the thread.
Don't make him look into the wrong places.

Complex1, this could be anything really.

Who assembled your build?
That would be me. I had a defective video card (store checked it) so I replaced it, computer was working for a bit but now it's dead. They checked it in the store, they helped me install my new PSU, so it's very unlikely it was something that I did.

I honestly think it's a short at this point simply because it suddenly stopped working.

Did you install motherboard standoffs?[DOUBLEPOST=1458856449][/DOUBLEPOST]

yes, there are standoffs. Are you thinking that the motherboard possibly shorted out on the case? Pretty sure that's not the case, the store didn't touch anything related to them. I don't understand how it could just suddenly screw up.

I'm just trying to find out as much as I can.

I had many cases where people assemble builds and forget to install standoffs. The smallest move with your case can cause a short even after months of usage.

Are you capable of measuring your PSU outputs with a multimeter?[DOUBLEPOST=1458856649][/DOUBLEPOST]Just to confirm, this suddenly happened right? It's not like you were modifying your PC or installing new parts?

I'd need to find my multimeter.

Should I check my standoffs?

Also, is it possible that there is a gap between the PSU and the case causing a short? The guy in the store helped me install it, not sure if that would occur.
