I need some help with hosting. I know that dedi is probably the best to get, but how and how much? I dont't know what host to use. What dedi to use, etc. I know how to setup servers, but i have never dealt with hosting before. I want a good non-lag dedi, i think at least. I also want DDoS protection and what ever else protection i need. Please suggest hosts and help me understand hosting a little better. Thanks and please no bias answers.

An dedicated host gives you a dedicated server which you have root acces. You get more ram and CPU usage. YOU ARE THE ONLY ONE USING THE DEDI. When you use a shared host you are sharing a dedi with many other people. To start off you should you shared hosting then, if you have a good player base( 50+), you should go to a dedicated server. Shared hosting is a lot cheaper than dedicated.

In simple terms

Dedicated: Is like your personal PC where you can install what you like on it (with limitations to your knowledge) and run things off it with knowing its only your stuff located on the system. Also means dedicated IP (only you have the ip so no attacks on other servers would effect you). However depending on your knowledge if its self managed you may have issues setting up and installing programs + additional licence costing for some MC based programs

Shared Hosting: Is like your school computers in the computer lab (if those still a thing),where everyone can access it but programs are shared and space is allocated to your user. pre set customization and personalization, often a shared ip address & if one server on the box is attacked the rest fee the force of it

You can purchase with us a minecraft host plan. We have amazing DDoS protection. https://www.theminecrafthosting.com/

Also dont suggest using this guy, he been spamming his stuff everywhere with little proof on his servers + would personally go with OVH as they are solid as big companies and other mc server hosts run dedicated things through them (however costly and most of the time need to set up yourself)

Too add onto sycoinc's post a tad bit..

A dedicated server is an entire physical machine dedicated to you, and only you. Shared hosting is still run on a dedicated server, however it will have multiple users on it all using the same hardware. So you'll have much less power and control while on a shared hosting plan. However if you're not willing to fork out ~$100 and independence is not your top priority, you can get away with shared hosting. Just make sure you choose the right host. ;)

300 clients and been up for almost 2 mths (site created 25-mar-2015)
, if so good work but i doubt it, as from stats tracking sites, you have minimal traffic and would need to spam your site on forum posts if had that kind of client base as would be getting up there in google rankings but not much about.

Also i didn't state you use them, i stated the OP should look into them
