With time the money will come, but don't focus on that, have enough money ready to start your server and keep it alive for 3 months.

Spam, as much as possible, is annoying for many people, but it is necessary and I do not talk about going to other servers to publish your IP, invite YouTubers, MANY YOUTUBERS, it doesn't matter if they have 500 or 1000 subscribers, give them the YouTuber rank, It makes them feel important and part of the server.

As soon as you have money invest it in the server and in Developers, start creating a unique environment, solve bugs, improve the ping for your users!

Make it simple, if you create an RPG server, where you have to install MODS, a texture pack, and it is only for 1.10, nobody will be interested, this may seem a bit of spam but it is the best way I have to illustrate:

My SkyBlock setup, has the same as any other SkyBlock in MCM a scoreboard, gambling, tags, bar, crates, etc. But at the same time, it is nothing I have ever seen, how?

Scoreboard: is a bot for discord with which anyone can see the statistics of a user by executing a command (! Stats MrNovoa_ | images can see them in the setup)

Gambling: I contacted the developer of a plugin that has been inactive for more than a year and I asked him to create a custom version, the server does not have the typical slot machine in a chest, it is a physical machine that any user can use in the Spawn.

Tags: It is not shown in the chat as typically happens on all servers, it is shown above the users head.

Bar: It's not a villager, it's a soda machine!

Crates: they are not chests placed in the spawn, it is a 3D menu that any user can open anywhere in the spawn or on their island.

You must be creative and if you have no ideas to create new things then improve those that already exist!

If you know what you're doing, it's easy. What's not easy is sustaining that success for longer than 1-2 months.

It generally comes down to marketing it, if you can't market and get players, your server will fail, its the same with anything in business.

I would recommend looking into PPC ads, you could pay for terms like "survival Minecraft server", relatively cheap, should get some good returns, though you'll need to make a compelling offer to get them to join the server, e.g. offering a free paid rank for joining or get a $5 coupon to spend on our store, then hopefully later down the line, you'll get a return on investment from your players as they buy things from your server store.

It's best to go with what works, don't attempt to pour your money into a "new marketing tactic" that doesn't have any results since you can't afford to do that as you are starting out, the money could be better spent on hiring developers and getting YouTubers.

I'd personally recommend finding out what works by talking with server owners who have successful servers.

I mean real YouTube ads, not getting YouTubers to play, but that could also work.
That’s the first time I heard that, interesting.

Do you happen to know anyone who’d be willing to somewhat “mentor” me?

I don't personally know anyone that would mentor, though I do know a bunch of marketing specialists, though they'd probably want payment, I would recommend using Google's learning platform https://skillshop.withgoogle.com/ to get a grasp of it, it's probably what they would teach you regardless :p

Idk what do you have planned, only 1 server or a Network?

Maybe 80-120$US if it’s only 1 server and 600$US if it’s a Network

99.99% sure MCPrison makes over 2k a month and they made it for money..sooooHMMM
MCprison made that amount of money and got players because the owner off that server gavec all of that players that have a rank on his other servers which is a good thing to get players. Meaning people would want to play it since they have a rank but the owner is known to be a money lover.

If you're willing to look for a partner, I can help with this
Hmm, I’m 50/50 on getting a partner right now.

I’m going for one server, what % do you recommend for ads?
