So, title says all. I only have 37.1 GB of free space on my C drive (120 GB total), so I'm wondering if I should just uninstall basically everything and reinstall into my E drive (931 GB total), so I'll always have free Disk Space. Thanks. I'm also wondering how much you guys leave free, thanks. - Badger

Can you still play Steam games and run programs fine though? When I only had 11 GB open, I got messages such as I didn't have enough Disk Space open :(

Are you sure it's Disk Space? Yeah, I can do just about anything.
I mean that's what it was saying when I tried to play H1Z1 that was already installed and when I opened Adobe After Effects. It said I hadn't had enough Disk Space...?

I too am at maybe 50 GB left from a TB.
Check your recycle bin. If you dont empty it it will remain full of all sorts of stuff.
Also, check your libraries (videos, pics, documents etc) by rightclicking and clicking properties, it'll show you how much size they take up.
repeat with folders until you track down something large.

"Windows" folder takes up a lot of GB, but so does the "user" folder and "Program Files (x86)", but I can't just copy and paste those to my E drive?...

well, then you probably have a crapload of heavy programs and games installed. Go deeper, find out exactly which programs in program files are the big ones. see if you actually need them.
since Steam saves your progress, steamgames can be uninstalled if you rarely play them.

Already have uninstalled 2 Steam games. I'm wondering how I can move my user folder to my E drive from C drive without screwing anything up?

I have 3.8 TB's free, I only use around 300 GB though xD, 100GB on my SSD for my OS and games, the rest for programs.
darn. since you're not using several TB, mind getting me some diskspace to download? ;)[DOUBLEPOST=1456081603,1456081563][/DOUBLEPOST]

Don't think you can. That path is locked up. You can try copypasting it and then uninstalling a lot.

Hahaha, no xD. I bought 4 TB and a 500GB SSD thinking that wouldn't be enough lmfao.
well, I'll definitely need 2-3 TB, if not more, and 500GB SSD for games and programs sounds good. But then again I use a load of different heavy programs while experimenting to become gamedesigner.
(btw thats part of what im saving up for)

Ah, nice. I'd buy a 1-2TB SSHD (Solid-State Hard Drive). It's basically a HDD and an SSD in one, really useful for stuff like what you're doing.

Question, can I move my "Users" folder to my E drive without breaking anything?

Apparently you can do that with the Windows Automated Installation Kit (AIK), but changing those directories blocks any further updates:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/949977 said:
These settings should be used only in a test environment. By changing the default location of the user profile directories or program data folders to a volume other than the System volume, you cannot service your Windows installation. Any updates, fixes, or service packs cannot be applied to the installation. Microsoft recommends that you do not change the location of the user profile directories or program data folders.

I'd suggest using WinDirStat to see which folders and in particular which subfolders take up a lot of space.
