How to Fork plugins. (HCF)

Hey MCM Community.
I always wondered what do you mean by "Fork" cause i always find it out on some plugins
and most of them are "Forked hcf cores"
How do you fork a hcf core? How and why does it affect?
If you know how to fork a hcf core, please if possible put some simple steps down below

You just click "fork" on the github repo and wala. You have a fork of it.

I'm guessing you don't know how to program at all, so don't try to edit any code or fork anything. It is what it sounds, like editing an essay except for a codebase. If a plugin is backdoored I'd doubt it'd be on Github for everyone to see.

I see a lot of hcf cores on github/other websites and i'd like to try to fork any of them myself.
i see a lot of servers that "forked known hcf cores" and became popular so i wanted to try to fork myself
this is just the first step i'm a noob right now.

I think you should start again, if you're actually thinking they are people. Do some research if you really need it..

i already typed i knew what java is. How come i don't know that the game I'm playing requires java then?

Honestly, learn java before forking, the errors if you use src will just kill you if you don't. You even told me on discord that you weren't a developer...
