For example, the names "Poison" "Gray" and "Carnage" are all being transferred. How are users getting hold of these accounts with these names?

I have done some digging around and have found no real way of doing this. As far as I'm aware, the only real ways that I know of of obtaining these accounts is 1.) Getting into contact with the owner, which technically should not be possible considering some accounts show no information on how to get into contact with them. And 2.) Cracking the accounts, which I doubt works. How is this being done then?

If anyone knows anything about this sort of thing, add me on Discord and DM anything you know of to me: Clary#5685

(If you DM me, will keep it confidential)

More specifically, I'm trying to get into contact with the owner of "Fenrir" and I'd like to obtain the account somehow.

You're correct on both points. There's also the chance that they happen to know the owner IRL or the owner becomes active again or something like that. Cracking does work, but it's illegal and not allowed on MCM so I'm not gonna get into that. Getting into contact with the owners isn't hard if you know what you're doing, but as you said, sometimes you legitimately can't find any info on the person. I'd say 50% of the time, though, there's at least SOME form of contact, and maybe 15-20% of the time, they have some active account where they would respond to a PM about buying the account.

Thank you for the additional info! Did a little more digging, managed to find their statistics (https://minecraft-statistic.net/en/player/Fenrir.html) but I'd like to contact who owns this. How can I do that?

Your amazing, thanks! <3
Inaccurate stats, that site also includes MCPE servers and cracked players. I'll look for contact on them and see if I can find anything.

if you're doing it legal, it's literally google searching. rest is illegal which no one really cares about, cause who will go around telling people they are cracking accounts from og owners lul?

I'm not in the OG Minecraft scene, but I'll attempt to answer your questions.

(1) You can usually find the original owner of anything with a little effort, especially if their profile has a name history. If they have an old alias like "Dark3948", then this is obviously an alias that is most likely unique to only them on the internet, so chances are if you google it, you'll find their online profiles and social media profiles.

(2) Cracking definitely works. There's a lot of ways other than just sheer bruteforcing, such as combolists, or targeted hijacking. So if you find their alias "Dark3948" in a leak database, you might be able to get their passwords and e-mail accounts and other information. In some cases (such as Yahoo and Hotmail) you can simply recreate the e-mail of old accounts and just reset the account's password normally since some e-mail providers delete inactive e-mail accounts over time.

(3) Name sniping / autoclaiming / turboing. Snatch someone's name with a program/bot before anyone else while it's in the process of being released.

(4) Social engineering the support system.

People have databases with username, email, phone number, etc. Using that they just email or call or text whatever owner of which account, you can get an account and then transfer it using chearful.ninja on to a fresh account or you can tell them to change username and you get it using c&n.

Does social engineering even work nowadays with mojang? As far as I know they are pretty blunt about recovering accounts. No email or password, no transaction ID, no luck is what I always thought.

How would you go about it though? Every time I've attempted to I have had no luck, usually around the part where they ask for info on the account (which I don't have)

I won't say anything since it's not allowed on mcm

Can you DM me how you were able to find all of that info?
Don't need to DM it. I copied his original username, pasted it into Google, and clicked the links of social media with the same username. Works for any usernames that aren't super common (so something like IBeatYou wouldn't work well, while EpicTurtleMan403 would be great)

Social engineering or a basic form of doxing is the most normal method for getting into contact with account owners.

Staff, if you give me warning points for this, I swear to fucking god. What I said was correct and beneficial, and doxing/social engineering is perfectly legal if there is no malicious intent. Calling you on your bullshit before you try and warn me for “promoting objectionable content”.

I was able to find the OG owner for my old main by looking up his original Minecraft username. I ended up finding his YouTube channel which put me into contact with the user.
