Fortnite is mostly GPU intensive. The Graphics Card you got right now isn't enough to run Fortnite at 144+ FPS. I don't even know why you bought a 144hz monitor if you can't even run at such a framerate. I have okay knowledge with computers but I would suggest saving up money & getting a GTX 1060(at the least) or higher like a 1080. With settings all set to low/medium, you will be able to get over 144+ fps.
If a tech geek is lurking around somewhere and if I'm wrong, correct me : )

Can I ask, what are your settings set to ingame right now?

My settings are all low. I get around 260 fps in creative around 100-fps in pub games.

I had the monitor when i played minecraft.. i have enough money just want to find the cheapest way possible. So GTX 1080 will have constant 144fps?[DOUBLEPOST=1553844858][/DOUBLEPOST]In public games its not as bad but since im playing comp its getting really annoying being at 80 fps while fighting as it a hell of a difference

Well , I would recommened the GTX 1080ti (you see the "ti" right?) Its much better than the 1080 by perfromance and price

If it wasn't in the context of Fortnite, this system would be beneficial for other games in my opinion that are also fast paced (but are first person shooters), such as CS:GO since it is decently optimised and aged compared to other games.

OP,
It's Fortnite. You have to take in the context of rendering textures constantly around you which is a massive burden on your graphics card. BR games are generally frame-intensive because it also updates things around you. This is why you get better frame performance in Playground because there isn't 99 (or more) other players in the world playing. I'm not surprised you're not able to achieve a constant 144fps at 1080p on a BR game unless you turned down your resolution or decreased your graphics in your settings way more than you currently do. Other than that, the RX570 is not a 1080p144Hz card.

You would benefit more with the RX580/590 and upwards for 144Hz unless you were playing small-map games such as Call of Duty and CS:GO. But you aren't; and if you're interested in a Geforce Equivalent then you're probably looking at a 1070/2060 upwards.

You need to better computer to run massive games or/and run fortnite at good settings, I'd suggest you highly buy a Geforce GTX 1080, it is kind of expensive but it is worth the cost Kappa

What is everyone talking about here.....
With your current setup to run that 144hz you can literally use a GTX 1070.
I'd push for an RTX 2060 in comparison to a GTX 1080, as it's way newer (came out this year!) and has features that other cards don't have as the ray tracing stuff like tensor and rt cores, and the Turing architecture. It performs like a 1070 Ti on it’s base clock

Unless you're literally trying to be a content creator while running AI shit at the same time there's no need for dropping almost $800 on a 1080ti when you can get a new RTX 2060 with Ray Tracing for less than half the price.

Your PC is alright for what it is, 12 GB of RAM should set you fine and the i7 4790 is still a good cpu by today's standards.

Exactly what some of my IRL friends had said. I might give this graphics card a go.

Get either a GTX 1660ti, or an RTX 2060 if your budget will allow it. Also, you might want to upgrade that CPU soon.

if you don't get 144 fps you shouldn't have that monitor
