Maybe this is a sign that better things are to come, or a sign that worse it to come. I can only hope for better things.

As someone who had this happen to me as well, I can with 100% confidence say that this will be a good thing for your sake. At first you might feel kinda down about it because it’s something you’ve done for so long and something you are very used to and now it’s changed. You might miss the Slack with everyone and taking care of reports etc. but you will begin to notice that you are more free. You won’t be tied down to this forum anymore and you can spend a lot more time going out, doing the things you like and spending more time with friends and family. It will be a massive weight lifted from your shoulders. That was my experience at least. I ended up having more fun, having more free time, making more money and just enjoying life more overall!

Baumy, don’t see this as a bad thing, it’s exactly the opposite! I’m sure you enjoyed helping people and sorting out the forum, as did I, but ultimately we did volunteerwork for a minecraft forum and got paid a little bit for it! Just think of all you can do now! On top of that, you won’t have to stress over it and you won’t have to deal with toxic 14 year olds cursing you out like a sailor after you warn them for selling a world downloded map or NFA MC account.

Man, it took the upper levels of management 6+ months to get an image proxy setup after an ETA of 24 hours. This forum now is riddled with so many problems and everyone is always told “We are doing X now to fix it!” And it either takes an unreasonable amount of time or it never actually gets solved. Also, remember when every single staff member (us included) signed a word document to ask that BeBosny retain forum ownership but it just got ignored? Yeah, what I’m saying is that you deserve SO much better than this!

So, good luck with eveything in life and I wish you the best! Remember that it only gets better from here and take care man :)

The thing is Baum, mental health is something overlooked in our world, and anyone who denies that just doesn't want to admit it.
You were good to us all, so no need to believe you've "failed" or "disappointed" us. Because truthfully, and I know I can speak on behalf the community on this one - we are here for you & care about you.

Your a staff member? Cool.
You got demoted? Cool.

Now, it might seem like a negative statement at first sight but the truth behind it is that no matter who you are, we will always think & feel the same about you. We won't ever shame you for anything out of your control, such as a simple demotion, and as Doge said, this is definitely a well deserved release from your duties as a staff member on the forum. You will be able to do so much more with yourself now that you are free of reports, issues, arguments, and everything under the damn sun the forum causes.

There is so much more to life than small things like this, and even though it was a big part in your life, your young. The days ahead of you are young. And most importantly, your experiences are young. Remember that ;)

Thanks for everything Baum, and although we've really never had a full blown conversation or for that manner really ever talked, I care about you & your well being. If you ever need anyone to speak to about anything, please come DM me. I'd love to speak.

To freedom & happiness in life,
godly

Thanks man, I really appreciate it. I miss talking to you since you left the team. Have Cate send me your snapchat or something, it will be good to talk to you. Also thanks for the advice, it's just that I feel like a failure for not being able to do what I should have done. My anxiety and depression have stirred up before this and are really bad now that this has happened so it is hard for me to see this positively, I am trying my best.

If this actually happened, I have no idea why the people who signed didn't step down after MCM was given up to Mick.

Hello, it may have come to a surprise to some of you that I was demoted yesterday. It was a surprise to me as well, as I had just found out that morning. It honestly hit me pretty hard as I did not expect it at all. My demotion was due to new standards essentially and I am to blame for the demotion. I may have been active, but my activity was.. well.. how do I put it, inconsistent. This was due to my health issues that I am sure a lot of you know about at this point. My anxiety and depression caused me to take long breaks at times and made me not acceptable for the position any longer.

I want to apologize to anyone I have disappointed or made upset by being demoted. I have gotten a lot of messages from people, good and bad. I just want to say I am sorry. Whether I upset you in the past or if you do not like me in general. I feel as if I disappointed a lot of people, and for that I can not say sorry enough. I do want to thank those who have been kind and supportive, as that means the world to me. MC-Market is more than just a sales forum to me. It has helped me though many hard times and gave me something to work hard on and strive on, and I let it and the people around it down. I want to apologize to Mick for letting him down. I truly love this site and community. You have supported me through thick and thin and for that I can't thank you enough.

I more than likely will be around the site, but not like before. While a staff member for nearly 4 years I spent a lot of my free time on it, doing reports, helping users, and having fun. It is sad that the fun of that has come to an end, especially so abruptly. As I said, it has hit me pretty hard. I would like to one again to apologize to anyone I have disappointed. I am truly sorry, as I feel as I have failed you as a community. The community that I love and have been a part of for years. This may be my last thread for a while (No it is not a goodbye thread), but I will be around. Feel free to shoot me a message whether it be kind or hateful. You as a community have the right to feel upset with me as I have let you down by not being able to perform. Anyway, it was one hell of a run.

Maybe this is a sign that better things are to come, or a sign that worse it to come. I can only hope for better things.

You haven’t failed anyone, but what makes me angry here is that Mick didn’t even reply. He didn’t say anything on it. Just poof, 4 years and this is what you get, you login one day and see that your rank is gone, this is exactly why mcm has gone to shit and it’s so sad

I never really got to know you all that well, but I just wanted to say that you did not fail us in any way, shape, or form. If you ask me, your mental health trumps any staff position on this forum and/or anywhere else. I send you my best wishes, and please don't feel like a stranger to us. Thank you for your service to this community!

He replied saying I was demoted and listed reasons. However the said reasons were not really known to me until I was demoted. Also hurts me he never said anything here, saying hes sorry, or anything for that matter

It's insane is what is is, even a simple warning of the reasons would have been nice, or even telling you BEFORE you logged in and say you were demoted would have been nice

I got the message when I woke up, I told tried to dispute it because I did not feel it was fair. He said the decision is final and by that afternoon I was demoted. (To give a proper timeline).

Thank you so much, Baum, for fighting alongside myself and the rest of the staff team for the sake of this community over the past several years. It hasn’t always been fun. After all, with the things we care about come the stress and pressure of wanting to protect it.
Despite our disagreements on many matters, it was always apparent that we both wanted the best for MC-Market. For that, you will always have my respect, and my gratitude.

The coming of better and more important things is certain. MC-Market is but one stepping stone on your journey in life.
I look forward to the many ways in which you will come to improve this world. So go on, be free, leave us block gamers in your dust, and fulfill the dreams that so few are brave enough to step forward and pursue.

You’ll always have people who care about you here.

Thanks for your message, however, I find it funny that you reply just now after I made a comment about you guys saying nothing. Not only that, but you never fully explained why it happened or so suddenly. I do not agree with the way you and Mick handled it, or the "situation" in general. You do not just toss someone who worked for you for nearly 4 years aside like trash. I had no real warning or chance to improve in the things I was lacking in (Which were the new standards I was never aware of). I am disappointed and so are a lot of members.

This is mainly aimed at Mick

for someone that cares about baum, you sure do seem misguided.

Had you cared, you would've helped him when **your** advertisement system fucked up instead of leaving him to get screwed as a result.

Had you cared, you would've had the decency to give notice and give him a chance to reach the "new standards" that he seemingly didn't qualify for. Instead of that, you put a person who probably cared more about this community than you do in a shitty situation and threw him out without warning; truly showing how little you care about your staff team and the type of person you are.

Baum was one of the best mods this site has ever had (and likely ever will), and despite how you treated him, HE STILL MADE A THREAD APOLOGIZING TO THE COMMUNITY ABOUT HOW HE FEELS LIKE HE LET US DOWN. The man cared about this site and not only did you take that away from him after years of dedication, you and Mick haven't even properly thanked him for the amount of effort he gave to you.

Without going into detail I shouldn't publicly, your actions are disgraceful and are yet another show that the administration of this site cannot be trusted when it comes to staffing choices or as good people.

I wasn’t involved at all, so I’m not sure how I could have handled it differently, but I apologize.

Admittedly, the first time I saw this thread was after Doge had responded complaining about administration, and so responding at that point felt ill-timed. Unfortunately, the atmosphere of this thread has only gotten worse, and it would seem that you also feel that we aren’t grateful for your contributions. Even knowing that the timing was only worse, I wanted to correct that immediately, because not only is it incorrect, but you absolutely shouldn’t have to be feeling that way.

Discussing the reasons that the demotion was final rather than negotiable is something that shouldn’t be discussed in a public thread. Listing reasons for having decided to let you go here would be incredibly disrespectful, and it’s something I don’t intend to do, regardless of how much hate is directed at administration by those who can’t help but be uninformed. These decisions are always internal, and made with only thoughts about what’s best for the community and the staff member in mind.

I’d encourage you to communicate with Mick so you can better understand why the decision was final, because you don’t deserve to be feeling unappreciated or treated unfairly, and I can’t deny that I too don’t enjoy being painted the bad guy for being part of the team that decided to part from such a standup and enjoyable person.
