Do you understand the fundamentals of hard drives? Packing a dozen medium size (15-50 players) Minecraft servers on standard disks will cause problems, there's a reason why no common Minecraft hosts offer standard HDD hosting anymore, or if they do it's extremely cheap. SSDs are very cheap now, and you can buy known brand 512GB ones on sale for under $125 if you know where to look.

I didn't mean to bash or make people cry and get upset, the unusual configuration just struck me odd.

And please, don't question my posting etiquette, my clients are extremely happy with the service I provide and it grows every month.
It's not that I don't understand, it's that I don't expect. How many people do you think really own their own hardware? I can't speak for this guy here as having owned his own or not, but:
  1. It is extremely cheap, at $3/GB, that is unreasonable and simply incomprehensible pricing. It's stupidly cheap
  2. If he's renting these servers, perhaps that's the best offer he got? A lot of larger companies still don't do decently priced rental servers with an SSD, a fair processor and a fair amount of RAM
  3. Clearly not a branded company, what he lacks in performance he should offer in support, again, he's offered a Skype and I'm sure this kind of business model depends on better support for the client. It's fine for startup servers to get all the help they need and get off the ground

I'm not going to derail his thread further though. I'd be happy to take this up with you in a PM if you liked.

Vouch :D I bought 2GB's and could not be more pleased :) My server boots nearly 5 seconds faster than my old host, and runs great. I highly recommend it, and Myiume is great to talk to :)

You should probably include some sort of terms, you know; if the server gets compromised and all of your customers' files are released, they can't sue you. I'm no lawyer so don't flame me DX
