Looking for a host that utilizes an i7 CPU (Skylake or Kaby), a pretty quick SSD, and a decent amount of RAM. DDoS protection/mitigation is also preferred. US server location. 1 Gbps uplink. This can be a standard dollar amount per GB typical server or a VPS or a dedicated. If you are a host or know some host that provides this please tell me.

OVH has i7-6700K, Seflow has i7-6700 Skylake and i7-7700
Both quite amazing host providers ^^

Why do you need an I7, if you are that concerned on performance why not get a dedicated server?

The i7 is a should be a lot cheaper because it is a desktop grade cpu, whereas the E5 is an enterprise level cpu if your going to host minecraft servers you can get sometimes a better performance with a E5.

Look at this benchmarks
https://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=Intel+Core+i7-6700K+@+4.00GHz&id=2565
https://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=Intel+Xeon+E5-1650+v3+@+3.50GHz&id=2389
The E5 would be faster if Minecraft servers utilized multi-cores, but they only use a single core. So the faster the single core, the better the performance.

Do you know where their North American servers are hosted?
Not really, but if you get one service there, you can trace it down.

Thank you, I'm quite surprised not a lot of hosting companies use i7s given the better performance and cheaper. Almost tempted to start my own hosting company because of this
I assume its because they get something bigger to resell, probably E5-2670 and similar ones with huge amounts of RAM, like this one: http://prntscr.com/e7vdlv But this is just my prediction ^^
