Actually, it is. Read my above posts. Server's these days cost a few grand to make it wildly successful or at least have some success. A few hundred won't get you anywhere.

I have been wanting to restart opening server/s for a while now. I have not owned a minecraft server for about a year now. And i am looking to get back into it.

The budget you currently have will either give you an alright server files with nothing else included if lucky some grahics or some premade files with a few features and a 4-5 playerbase
OVH dedi will cost around $105 per month

A VPS is good for a starting server. My friend uses 2 $5 VPS's for a whole bungee network.

That is not my total for everything included... That is more than enough to get a server working. Remeber i am not making a network i am making 1 server for now. $500 is more than enough to get started. BrettPlays You can easily setup a server with that, Not including hosting. And did you read it all? as i said i would be using a cheap host to do a setup then switch to a Dedicated server or a well known host... Hosting was not included within it. I am able to spend more if i need to as i do have alot more money. How ever i have alot of premium plugins that i will be using. I will be doing most of the configs myself. anything i cant do i will hire a developer to do. I will be buying custom builds aswell.

Builds + Plugins add up quickly... gl I guess though.

You will need money to advertise your server in different ways to actually get a playerbase, good Advertising is really important if you want your server to be successfull!
