I cannot agree with this enough. The only laptops that have ever been in my home are ThinkPads and MacBooks. Until very recently, at least. They've always been my two most favorite brands, the former because of its robustness, and the other because of the operating system and trackpad. They're both very, very dependable machines.
Not sure I would say the macbook is a dependable machine, but I did like to use it when I had one.

It’s dependable for a long time. I know people that still use their extremely old models from pre 2014

Wow really? Maybe I just got unlucky, mine barely lasted for 4+ years and even though it still works now, I have to constantly keep it plugged in. Darn.

They really are excellent machines. Though if you’re referring to the keyboard issues of the last few years, I’ve got to agree that it really is an embarrassment for Apple.[DOUBLEPOST=1569928750][/DOUBLEPOST]

Oh, that’s what you mean. That’s not a MacBook issue. That’s a lithium ion issue. The batteries just poop out after enough cycles, and you need to plop in a new one to get good performance again.

Nope not what I meant, although I just realized mine was a macbook air, which is a lot different than a macbook. Maybe I should try a real macbook sometime.[DOUBLEPOST=1569928795][/DOUBLEPOST]

I wouldn’t say there’s anything wrong with the Air per-say, but I use the 15” Pro because I can’t live with less than 32 gb of ram anymore. I have over 800 tabs open on my PC. That strangled a 16 gb machine.

Ah yes, someone else who keeps 5 billion tabs open. Thank god there's more people just like me.
