So, I was selling BTC for PayPal. Someone named Cynthia#8649 added me, saying she would buy it all. She acted as if she was Kelsey. So of course, I messaged Cynthia to confirm, just in case. Cynthia messaged, saying 'confirmed'. I was like, alright, cool. But then, I checked Cynthia's Discord (Information Tab), and it's actually SaphireLuna#9040.

I contacted Cynthia immediately via her real Discord. Someone named Religion#5840 was impersonating me, telling Cynthia he would buy a Minecon 2012 cape.

Two impersonators, right? What was their goal?

Cynthia impersonator made me comment, to prove she was real. Religion impersonator took this advantage, to prove he was real. Then, real Cynthia confirmed for the Minecon 2012 cape, and Cynthia impersonator said she confirmed.

They are evolving..

EDIT:
Another one. User impersonated me and WYNOS

What did you even ask when you messaged Cynthia? Did you straight up ask what her Discord is or did you only ask "Will you confirm that I am talking to you on Discord?"? Just wondering, trying to get some insight on this situation. :p
yeah, thats what I wondered too.
I always include my own discord and the discord to confirm in the message, but thats because of easier scam report reasons. Seems like that should become a more used method to avoid this kind of tactics

People really love your religion.[DOUBLEPOST=1511738783][/DOUBLEPOST]
People really love your religion.
Also, I wouldn't be making these threads, it would make people more into this to see your reaction.

Same thing happened to me, I had this situation over 3 times (Discord and Skype). Be cautious.

Am I the only one who wishes I was relevant enough for someone to even impersonate me

I was going to make a thread on this myself, discord impersonators are the new skype impersonators and for some reason people don't even bother to verify legitimacy half the time.

And they're doing the thing you described where they get someone else to message you so it all looks legit. That's why you ask to actually describe the deal and do it on site. Someone recently fell for the dumbest impersonation attempt I've seen, they were impersonating me and convinced the victim to give access to his mcm account. (Which is silly because nobody would need access + if it were actually me I wouldn't even need a password).
