Maddy sort of touched on it. A service team is just a not so fancy brokerage, connecting sellers and buyers, taking a cut for facilitating and managing the deal. People pay brokers to avoid the hassle of finding what they want themselves. There are shitty brokers, who pose as good brokers & balance their own interests with their clients interests poorly, but that doesn't mean all brokers are shitty brokers.
