this started something i was not prepared fora nd now i am scared[DOUBLEPOST=1558016209][/DOUBLEPOST]
He's sort of talking about brand loyalty. Apple could probably charge however much they want for the shittiest phone and people would still buy it because it's Apple and they have pretty much most of the market share for phones.

Sure they charge a lot for their "good phones" but that doesn't mean that all of their phones are good

Apple does have a history of deliberately slowing down older generations of devices and they also have a history of buying their screens from SAMSUNG

Apple and Google have invested billions of dollars into LG to make displays instead of Samsung.

Apple slowed down the older phones to preserve their lifetime. Lithium Ion batteries age over time, with normal use. They slowed down older generations to put less load on the battery so that you do not experience random shutdowns and having your phone randomly die at 15% battery. They also changed the price of battery replacements from $80 to only $29 and included a Battery Health feature in battery settings so you can monitor your battery's health.

If you keep a phone for many years, you obviously want it to last, and don't care too much about performance, or you would have upgraded. Apple thought the same and wanted to preserve their products to last as long as possible. This is also the reason why there is no fast-charger in the box, as that degrades the battery much faster than normal charging.

I'll also just leave this here:

The reason why people buy iPhones is they DON'T make shitty products. Apple also doesn't have most of the market share, 65+% of it is android.[DOUBLEPOST=1558016606][/DOUBLEPOST]
1. That’s very true but he is still discrediting apple for what they have, which is incredible hardware.

2. What my point is, is that a good phone nowadays means your coughing up good money.

3. You know Samsung is much more than just phones correct, and how exactly does that matter. Samsung could literally drop their entire line of phones and still be financially rising. The slowing down phones part is scummy I do admit though. But it isn’t like Apple is the only one doing shady things.[DOUBLEPOST=1557694292][/DOUBLEPOST]
iPhone =/= Gold digger sir, it’s more of a cultural standard at this point

Samsung used to sell official parts, directly from samsung, for their phones.

You can't anymore. It's not gone, but most of the useful parts (batteries, screens, fingerprint sensors, etc.) are removed.[DOUBLEPOST=1558016684][/DOUBLEPOST]
Android is much better regarding performance and style. I use it for almost 6 years and I never had problem with it.

http://browser.geekbench.com/mobile-benchmarks[DOUBLEPOST=1558017042][/DOUBLEPOST]
Fortnite took longer to release on Android's because the specifications of Android's range, with iPhone you're buying virtually the same damn thing for a higher price and a new name truly

Most of the changes between iPhone models are actually quite significant, let's compare some.

iPhone 6s -> iPhone 7

1. Water resistance
2. Solid state home button
3. Stero speakers
4. Dual Camera
5. 2 new colors
6. Performance boost
7. (Maybe?) More RAM
8. iOS 10 (a timely release that android could never do with their fragmented ecosystem)
9. 2MP Front Camera increase from 5mp to 7mp
10. Brighter display (625 cd/m2 max brightness from 500)
11. More colorful display (wide color display from sRGB standard)

When all that changed from the galaxy S8 to S9 was...

1. Camera blinks in and out
2. Purple
3. Performance boosts (to a processor that was still inferior to the one in the iPhone 7 even though it was released AFTER)[DOUBLEPOST=1558017152][/DOUBLEPOST]

Note 9 = $1000
Galaxy Fold = $1980
Google Pixel 3 = idk exactly but about $700-$900

Everyone hates Apple for removing the headphone jack, but nobody hates Google (the CREATOR OF ANDROID) for doing the same on their Pixel 2? Nobody hates Samsung for removing it on their Galaxy A models?

I also want to talk about that "Notch" haircut that I see Samsung and some others like to use in the advertisements. The S10 has a notch. Well, it's not a notch, but it is a noticable intrusion. If anything, it is worse, since it is not pushed to the very edge and closer to the center of your content.

Why doesn't Apple make a commercial where everything has a stylus? To mock the Note, of course. Why not make an ad where someone gets a "Samsung S-Pen" embedded into their arm? Why not make an ad where someone buys a couch and there's an S-Pen in it?

If you mock something, it will look stupid.

The following are FACTS, not opinions. You can't disprove these even if you dont't like them.

-Apples A series CPU's are the fastest, and most, if not the same, power efficient.

-The Android ecosystem is fragmented.

-iPhones hold their value better, and generally last longer

-iOS has very good optimization, which allows iOS to operate efficiently.

EDIT: Changes "iOS 13" to "iOS 10" in the iPhone 7 comparison

https://www.tomsguide.com/us/snapdragon-8150-benchmarks,news-28535.html. So no on the speed, comparing the top processor of both types. Neither side has much details on their power consumption, so I can't exactly look at that.
The Android ecosystem is fragmented.
You're comparing over 24,000 Android phones to Apple's measly 16 (or 21, if you count "plus/max" as a separate phone). Also, Apple users tend to be hypebeasts whereas Android users are more reasonable. Examples being the iPhone X hype, Airpod hype, etc.

It's true though.

1 is false. 2 is taken out of context, but if you insist ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

how is 1 false?[DOUBLEPOST=1558027594][/DOUBLEPOST]Hold on, you're wrong

That's a LEAK, not the real thing.

The S10 is using the Snapdragon 855, not 8150.

that website you posted is simply a speculation. it was posted before the s10 even came out

Unsure why you rated this funny

View attachment 223448[DOUBLEPOST=1558103288][/DOUBLEPOST]

Here is also a test from the exact same website, showing that the A12 is 19% faster:

https://www.notebookcheck.net/855-vs-A12-Bionic_11011_10166.247596.0.html
At a general performance test, yes. For games though (hi-res in particular), which is the only thing you'll need a mobile CPU that powerful for, physics is more important. The 855 accels by roughly 1.5x in those cases. I rated it funny because who cares about the fact that it was originally leaked? It's not like someone built a mobile CPU stronger than every single mobile CPU on the market just to fake a test.

leaks are leaks, they aren't verified and if you look at that link above, it also says, and i quote:

"It seems that Qualcomm has to admit defeat from Cupertino when it comes to graphics performance, though. The A12 Bionic, introduced in autumn 2018, is therefore still at the forefront of the comparison of the fastest smartphone processors in 2019."

Okay.
Android is better here is why
1. Freedom to change everything. I mean everything.
2. It's built on the linux platform meaning you can change the os.
3. They are not being sued for antitrust practices
4. Manfactures and you can change stuff and make a new flavour
5. Most of android phones have headphone jacks
6. They get the features quick eg android phones have had QI wireless charging for ages
7. Updates are quick.
8. Google actually does not be the refree and the player in the app store eg spotify
9. They work on a variety of devices from low end to high end.
10. Unlike apple android devices are serviceable
11. Whole bunch of acessories exist for android
12. Lots of support
13. It's easy to get out of the android eco system unlike apples.
14. They actually care about you.

Also from the article: "Not unimportant: the Snapdragon 855 was able to keep up its performance even over a longer period of time in the benchmark workshop, even if the clock rate had to be lowered a little again and again." I'm not arguing with you. Apple fans can't be changed. Enjoy your OS, I'll enjoy mine.

That's a continuation of a paragraph that starts with "But the Snapdragon 855 was not ahead of the A12 Bionic everywhere."
