Hey, I'm iCause and since January, I've been playing Minecraft, Rocket League and doing other things Kappa on my PC that I built :p

I've been having some issues for the last month or so, and I am normally good tech-wise, but this, I just can't diagnose a problem.

I've been having some lag recently, still getting 60+fps and a decent ping but for some reason, I still get some lag :

  • It's not an internet issue.
  • It's not a "you have a rubbish pc get a new one m8" issue.
  • It's not a FPS issue
  • It's not a "turn down your settings m9" issue.

Why isn't it an internet issue : I had a technician come to my house and fix my bad internet, I don't lag on other things, on my laptop it gets same ping and doesn't lag on the same connection, worse PC specs.

Why isn't it a bad PC issue : I have a decent PC and have been playing on higher settings with 10+ tabs open in chrome and still didn't lag, it just suddenly changed.

Why isn't it a FPS issue : I still get 60+ fps.

Why isn't it a turn down your settings issue : As I said I played on higher settings literally a month and a bit ago and it was still smooth.

I have tried that TCP thing, VPNs, re-installing java and other things.

Any response giving advice or trying to help me is very appreciated.

I really can't tell you what's causing it, but that's a connection issue, whether it's on the sending or receiving side idfk.

Maybe it's my WiFi adapter? Idk

Could you tell me what your PC specifications. That may help me figure out a problem.

Thanks!

Hey,

Straight off the bat I can see you need a new processor DESPERATELY. That is a very old and cheap processor but this may be because of your budget which I fully understand. However, that may not be the case of the lag spikes you are receiving.

Before I can firgure out the issue you are having I will be needing a few things from you to help me do so. I need the following:
  • A list/screenshot of all the programs you have installed on your PC. (You can see your installed applications by pressing and holding the Windows Key + X and then typing in appwiz.cpl and press Enter.)
  • A screenshot of your Video Settings on Minecraft.
Please let me know if you are having any issues with getting what I am asking for.

Thanks!

1. Okay, it's not the best processor and I probably should do something about it, maybe overclock it?
2. If I was replacing it, what processor would you recommend? Budget : $150 ish.

Could be the texture pack if there is corruption it can cause stuttering as well as game corruption, try reinstalling the game first. Make sure to back up your texture packs and any versions you want to keep (Modded versions, clients, etc). You can also try allocating more ram to your client, as that sometimes is the issue.

tbh seems like you're just trying to brag
Try not using a texture pack. Could be your graphics card maybe I dunno
Wait, I'm bragging?

Thanks for the help, I'll try turning off my texture pack now :)

Thanks for the help, I'll try changing texture pack now as I've already tried allocating more ram to my client.
