and then added a player search page to search the database or whatever...

I'm not sure if this is exactly what you're looking for but if you search a user by their IGN, it finds if they are online a server.

You would need to constantly be query every single server and build a database of players, when and where they were logged in.

However, some servers you can't even query that kind of information (Mineplex.com - 30,000 players?)

I would suggest just using Google to find him.
