Hi everyone,
Let me tell you a story...

You may or may not have heard of Rachmaninoff... He was a Russian composer who lived from 1873 - 1943.

I advise you to listen to some of his music whilst reading this;

Upon looking up one of his pieces that I'm learning, I stumbled upon one of his many quotes:
"What is Music? How do you define it? Music is a calm moonlit night, the rustle of leaves in Summer. Music is the far-off peal of bells at dusk! Music comes straight from the heart and talks only to the heart: it is Love! Music is the Sister of Poetry and her Mother is sorrow!"

He loved music and loved creativity.

"The new kind of music seems to create not from the heart but from the head. Its composers think rather than feel. They have not the capacity to make their works exalt - they meditate, protest, analyze, reason, calculate and brood, but they do not exalt."

Even in a Minecraft Server or website - a piece of art, writing, music & more, success doesn't come from analyzing and copying - It comes from the feelings. And I know, this is going deep, especially for a Minecraft server thread, but I feel this is important in life regardless.

I was exploring his many quotes and came across this...
"My dear hands. Farewell, my poor hands."

Baffled, I looked up what it meant. In 1943, the year Rachmaninoff died, he became ill and broke down during the middle of a concert tour. He was admitted to a hospital in Los Angeles...

He was diagnosed with terminal cancer.

Upon hearing this, his final words documented before he died were in a hospital, where he looked down at his hands, his tools for creativity, how his feelings & emotions are expressed... He uttered "My dear hands. Farewell my poor hands."

I thought this was quite a lovely story to share. His whole life was dedicated to creativity and love right up until the end. I feel great if my resources get a rating because my creativity has helped someone else. And what we all should take away from this is that life is too short, and to enjoy it, you must do what you love and enjoy, not just repetitive nonsense.

I hope you have a good day.
Billy.
