How important is the open source to you? Would you consider trading it for extra features & much easier setup/install process, or is it a critical thing to you?
Open source isn't critical, and if I was a new server owner I would certainly trade it for easy set-up and feature rich, but because I have become somewhat experienced I would personally stick with the open source pterodactyl

Pretty much yeah, plus multicraft was made for MC servers, whereas pterodactyl wasn't made just for MC servers. Like multicraft has easier access to certain server settings/preferences within the panel instead of having to go into the server_properties file and doing it manually that way.
You're right, that Pterodactyl is more generalised than Multicraft, and that means it doesn't have some features out of the box which you might find in Multicraft. They seem to want to avoid adding game-specific features to Pterodactyl itself, and want other companies to do that[DOUBLEPOST=1561156255][/DOUBLEPOST]
I feel like Multicraft is better, but I'm slightly biased seeing as I used it for a long ass time.
Pterodacyl is ok but still prefer multicraft ;p
never used the others
Are there any cool features in Multicraft which you'd like to see in Pterodactyl?

This discussion has been super useful. We're working on something, built on Pterodactyl, offering the game-specific features that Multicraft offers, and more

Any questions are welcome, as they'll inform our thread design that we're putting together :)

I don’t know what you guys are on about? When I worked at Pebble everybody was shitting on Pterodactyl due to it’s flaws and inconsistencies, as well as some minor exploits (infinite ram exploit etc...)

Those issues were mostly Pebble issues and not Pterodactyl issues. It is free open source software NOT designed for hosting companies. So implementation in a company comes down to that companies skill with software and infrastructure development.

It's understandable why Pebble wanted to move to Ptero, but it seems they under-estimated the amount (or type?) of work that you would need to put in, to run Ptero at scale.
