I'm selling a wide variety of hatchback sports. I can meet you in Kavala's Dealership. Looking for about $35,000-$50,000 depending on colour.

I believe MCM is not a good place to ask for car recommendations mainly because not many people here actually own a car and have any idea what it is like to own a car and how much it costs... it would be way better to look on auto related forums for car reviews and reliability tests.

But I would first look into general cost of owning a car (fuel costs, insurance (could be a lot depending on country), unplanned repairs etc.) ...car is not a cheap thing to own.

If you understand the costs then the next question would be the budget you have... I personally would never go for a new car because just after 2-3 years car could lose even 50% of it's value and potentially could be purchased way cheaper with minimal signs of use and plenty of life left in it.

I would also avoid expensive luxury cars ( Mercedes, Jaguar, expensive Audi and BMW models) as the parts cost a lot more for those...

Personally I would avoid Mercedes A class as the plague.
2 of 5 is not good at all... https://www.whatcar.com/mercedes-benz/a-class/hatchback/used-review/n965/advice

You could possibly look into Lexus cars... or Toyota Corolla Hatchback XSE maybe.

Real talk: check out the 2019 Mazda 3 hatchback, it's all-new for this year. Mazda has always made an "above average" car for the price, but I think they blew this one out of the water.

You can get it with all-wheel drive and plenty of high-quality interior materials to go around on the upper trims. If you ask me, it might as well be a luxury brand. Do note it's probably not nearly as powerful as the Mercedes or Audi, but since Mazda focuses on lightweight vehicles and balanced handling, you won't notice.
