He is right on the money, before even counting assets (domains, website, servers, etc) companies expects at least 12 months (longer for higher reputation and longer standing companies) worth of revenue.
For $250 you can expects only more or less $20/month of revenue and for $1,000 you can expects $80/month. That is BEFORE any assets is even considered so real results will be less to reflect that.
See now why you won't get much on those budgets?
You should consider starting your own company instead. The $2,000 won't get you much in an existing company except an owner that wants out immediately due to circumstances that they will most likely not disclose to you.
Also don´t forget that some companys own the hardware so the price of those companys will go much higher because of that!

Used servers have very little resale value.
Yes but if the company lets say has 10 owned servers it will not have the same value as a company that has 10 servers from lets say OVH or hetzner.de
Correct, but it wouldn't be much different. The recurring revenue is what really has value. The 10 servers will be worth no more than a couple thousand dollars max.

I have people to do it for me! lolJust create a Hosting site, It will be a lot better than buying one that could have problems.

This is such a waste of time, unless you are going to offer people 1gb for 1$/month then I see no reason to even think about starting or buying a Hosting company. Why do you want to compete with all these other hosting companies who are either really reputable or really solid. I mean there are thousands of minecraft hosting companies out there, what makes you think people will choose yours?
Very much agreed! Doing this is such a waste of time and money imo. You are literally creating nothing and if you do receive customers, you are just keeping them away from companies that cannot be outperformed.
I would like everyone that is considering to make money through server hosting to seriously reconsider it. You can do better!
