I'm looking for a cheap-ish minecraft hosting provider that doesn't just run the server with java -jar server.jar and then proceeds to monitor the ram usage of the process and then kills it if it reaches the ram limit. Maybe someone who actually uses Xmx and Xms and sets it to however much ram you bought and leaves it alone. Cmon, do i REALLY have to buy a VPS?

Hey, may i suggest JDP Networks. Give them a search on google, they use proper Xmx and Xms flags and do not auto-restart servers at all even on the lowest grade packages. Pretty sure a coupon code (JDPBLOG) is also active on the checkout for 50% off to promote their blogs. Give them a search. There packages are extremely cheap, VPS's start really cheap as well if you did want to go down that line

That's very weird that your provider has it set like that? Most hosts that run from pterodactyl have default startup to be the ram usage you purchased.

only the ones that oversell super hard will has out of memory killer enabled. Just pick a decent one and you'll be fine
