I totally agree with starting your own server, for 8 grand you could have huge success, hire a server management team, get custom plugins, and your bound for success.

Why not bying multiple servers so you combine them for your network is more unique because if you think let say you are bying a factions server only and not a network the guy that created the server has putted way much detail on that game mode but when you are buying the network some game modes won't be really detailed I hope you understand what I mean
