Lower the amount of points given for backing out, 50 is really excessive, yes they wasted time but 10 gives a suspension and 50 gets them banned, maybe the person has a legitimate reason for backing out?

Because that would not be enough of a deterrent to keep people from bidding up prices, as was mentioned. Why give even 10 points? Why not make it like 3-5 points? As, people can make a bit, say it is up to 100$, and the bid before was 90$, the Seller can simply say Bid lowered down to 90$ again.
I understand however that on ebay. if you bid and do not pay, there are charges etc. But, on here, there is nothing for ANYONE to lose except for some time out of their day. Which, lets be honest, the amount of time I see some people on this site (This includes myself), people should not have an issue with wasting a few minutes.. But, I agree that 10 would be a LOT better than the 50 from before.
I agree this should be changed. I personally have never backed out of a bid, and typically do not bid unless I am 110% certain I can pay it, however good idea.
That's because it isn't a 110 point warning. it was a 50 point warning. If they didn't even get suspended, a staff member decided it wasn't worth the full warning and gave them a custom one of less than 10 points.no it doesn't lol i saw someone who backed out of a deal and got warning but not banned
Yep, so this suggestion was accepted.I think we're going to make it 10 points, which is a significant drop from the 50 before.
We definitely don't want to let people off for bidding to boost the current offer, but I think that 10 is more than reasonable.
Please give me some input on this, as the update will be coming in less than 24 hours.
