I see both POVs here, if the giveaway is like 1 cent for putting a adv for their server or whatever, thats not really worth it.

In which case you laugh at them and dont enter. No need to forbid it.

Yes because otherwise it's a cheap way for attention. Loads of the time it's like a $3 giveaway and users have to put a link to the OPs thread in their sig or something. It's not fair - minimum should be $5 and if it's like "To enter put my company name in your bio, signature, name, profile pic, banner etc" then that should also be moderated.

This shouldn't be implemented...

I honestly wouldn't mind entering a giveaway for 1 cent.
Even though it's such a small amount, it's still money. I say leave it as it is. If someone does a giveaway for $0.1 just don't enter if you don't want to participate. Don't ruin it for the people who don't mind having the chance of winning 1 cent.

"It's not fair" Well then don't bloody participate, you doofus!
And call them out on it being unfair.

Good to see you missed the point of my statement. Next time read the whole thing and don't be derogatory - makes you look pretty foolish ;)

What's the point of your statement other than that you think it should be moderated because the reward-requirement doesn't match up? and I think it's pretty damn petty to want to regulate what the reward should be just because you think its too little.

  • It's a cheap way for attention which is what I would call 'petty'
  • They look spammy and are pointless when it's such an insignificant amount, users should just sell their signature or whatever they're required to do straight up instead of entering a 'contest'
  • Such small amounts defeat the point of a contest/giveaway because they're just plain irrelevant
Furthermore, the other point of my statement is, as I said, that people just use them for advertising. Like these, they just piss me off because 10-20 people advertise for someone and the OP only gives out something with the value of like $2-3 which the users could earn individually:

I could find a lot more.

tl;dr - the main point is OPs get cheap advertising and have essentially capitalized something that should be a form of giving back.

Why would you care, they giveaway any amount of money they'd like it isn't like anyone is losing something except they are, Do whatever you'd like but there is no reason to put a minimum amount to ( giveaways ) has no sense as well there are no staff have time to check every giveaway thread every day.
