Make all active profiles public

So I was thinking about this...
I personally don't really see a reason for a member to hide his profile.

What do you guys think about making all profiles public and removing the option to private it.

Please don't remove this option. If someone is problematic on the site and needs to be monitored, you can manually make theirs public but I think we should all have a right to a reasonable amount of privacy. I don't like the idea of people rooting through my profile to find my recent activity, see when I was last online, see which posts I like/dislike, etc. It makes it easier for people to rate spam me and I just don't want to deal with any of that.

If a user wants to hide their profile, they should be able to. Its like me saying just because you don't want people to know where you live, doesn't mean you get a choice.

I know its a little different but it's the same principle for some people.

I agree to this suggestion because it just allow the user to do a background check on user before doing a deal with them. Also the vouches on the wall.

I disagree with this suggestion. I don't like the idea of taking away a member's wish to remain private. Just because you don't see a reason for it, doesn't mean it shouldn't be allowed.

I think it should be a Premium/Supreme feature to private your profile.

This is a really good idea. I support the idea that people should be able to look through a potential buyer's/seller's post history to determine their trustworthiness, and generally speaking people who donate to the site are less likely to scam (inb4 the shitstorm this comment will cause). Searching through a new member's post history seems fair, and I think it's fair that donors should be able to have privacy.

There's a search feature for this. Someone's profile doesn't have to be public to be able to see their post history.

Yes, supreme only maybe. I dont like people looking at my profile and its comments, I highly disagree

Yeah, I know, but it makes it a lot easier to search through their most recent activity and you'd be able to see profile posts along with it.

Why remove features instead of add them?

Some of us like our privacy and we are entitled to it, in my opinion.

At the very least leave it as a supreme feature.

The main reason I have my profile hidden is because people were going through my post history and reporting my posts to get me banned.

Okay, what if it only showed profile wall and name history? People can literally just change their name and hide profile and bamn no way for a normal member to figure out who they are. (If i am wrong and there is a way for normal members *not staff* to do it please correct me).

Two things.

1) There's a suggestion for a page to show recent name changes.
2) Name changes aren't that big of a deal. But people put information on their profiles that they may not want the world to see and I personally believe that everyone has a right to privacy. I don't think that right should be taken away, just because Ajdin doesn't see a reason for someone to make their profile private.

I'll be very disappointed if this is implemented.
