Hello -
Before i start, this hasnt been posted before. They suggested it should be a ban.
I think death threats should mean a player gets suspended for a certain timeframe.
This is to stop toxicity etcetc

Let me know what you think

It annoys me how people think 'kill yourself' is a death threat.
I see this a lot in the reports, haha.

Anyways.
If someone has gotten to the point where they are saying 'kill yourself you stupid bag', or 'I'm going to kill you kid!'. You probably would of had to of made them a bit angry, and you probably would of made them say that.

If you don't start arguments, or make people mad, there wouldn't be death threats -- and then you'd be friends with everyone! yay!

Sad thing is that people like to ignore that fact.

As useful as this suggestion is to stop toxicity on the forums, this still won't stop users from saying it, and MCM will get a lot more heat for false bans if people come back and say "Oh but it was just a joke- He's my friend, he knows I'm joking- etc. etc."

If you can't handle someone living in their parent's house telling you to kill yourself, then you shouldn't spend time on the internet.

Useful suggestion in theory, but there are so many better alternatives like ignoring a user who truly offends you when they say this, or just not getting them to the point of telling you to kill yourself in the first place.

This depends very much. On the internet, you can metaphorically speaking piss people off by breathing, so I honestly think this is a tiny tad overly optimistic.

+1 if it's an actual death threat that scares the victim.
important distinction, yes. There's a punishment on Dox threats and DDoS threats, I don't see why serious death threats should be different if you can Dox someone.

if the sentence or context contains a Kappa face or emoji, its clearly not serious.

http://www.mc-market.org/wiki/warnings/
Global Rules:
1.5 Defamatory/Trashing Behavior: 5
1.6 Disrespectful/Harassing/Hateful/Trolling Behavior: 5

10 points - 1 week suspension
20 points - 2 week suspension
ect ect

Forgot to add - Should be a suspension so they learn their lesson and can have a second chance. If they do again Ban them? Idk
It seems you don't understand that there is a warning system, and the warning system works. If you had reworded the suggestion to example: "Higher the warning points for rule 1.5 and 1.6 ect ect" instead of "immediatly suspend and then ban people for doing this specific thing" then I might have considered agreeing to it.

that's pretty much why I said serious death threats should equal 10 warning points, since that goes straight from 1 suspend to another

Agree to a extent
I don't believe it should be a suspend unless it's excessive, meaning someone constantly telling you to kill yourself, as that's cyber bullying and should defidently give a suspend.

But someone telling you to kys maybe one time for fun, even if you don't find it fun can be annoying but could also not be meant in a bad way. I guess use the report feature or -rep the person for toxicity
or report it if it's excessive.

I mean, this is fine, so long is it actively enforced. Death threats shouldn't be tolerated at all, in my opinion, even jokingly.

I do agree with this due to the fact of the subject the are getting into but if they are saying it with a context as in when they are joking I think it should either be permitted or should be a verbal rather than a warning.

I don't believe we should add a specific rule for death threats and the severity of what is said will of course influence how many warning points the user receives. If you feel threatened or harass please report the user and they will receive warning points.

Denied, thanks for the suggestion.
