making a new minecraft server with a low budget in 2019? Help please

So hi there,

I haven't played minecraft in a while, recently came back to check it out and i remembered a dream i always had, literally a dream.

Since the first day i bought minecraft, which was about 7-8 years ago now, i have been dying, to make a minecraft server THAT ACTUALLY GETS A SMALL COMMUNITY

So here is the thing, before there was a moment where i wanted to do it for money.

But since hosting is hella cheap now well technically i don't even need money.

I just want to make a minecraft server and build a community

Now there is a big problem, to do so, you need youtubers, high quality graphics, nice features.
And well sadly, my budget is 5$, yes, you heard me, 5$.

Now before you start saying, you have no hope for 5$.
Please understand i just want tips.

IMPORTANT:
so this is the thing, i have lost most skills at being able to make a server from scratch, however i still know mostly how to config , so i am looking to buy a really cheap setup, and then a 2gb or 1gb ram server. Leaving no money for advertising, so is it possible? One thing you should also know about me is I am a person who loses interest quickly, so for example, if the server does well, i will be very interested and will even put more personal money into it, however , if it does bad, i lose interest extremely fast. So any tips? All help would be much appreciated!

In forums for mc market they have a loaning section you should be able to pull something off.

I am doing that, but i only have like 2 dollars or barely that, i spent some on hosting,

It's possible if you have the motivation, along with that motivation you will slowly gain contacts which will enable you to go bigger. But the hardest bit is getting a community going.

it may not work in 2019 but, if you just spam adv your server on youtube it will bound to get some players to join. you also need to be really active on your server. stay logged in 24/7. a lot of people will ask for staff and just have them get a playtime before applying. a lot of kids would donate a few dollars expecting me to accept them on their staff application because they donated. sometimes i did but it wasnt just because of the money mainly because they seemed very loyal. some of those people helped grew my server even more by doing what i was doing and spam adv on youtube. you have to be truly dedicated to it if you want it to work out, or it wont and you will be wasting your time. but make sure to have fun while developing your server, get too bored you start to not care about it and it dies. happened to me when i reached around 125 playerbase

I get that . I really want to make it community based . Quite frankly maybe not even have staff. I just want people who like my server not the chances of becoming tips . I don't have any big YouTube channel so it eill be difficult especially considering it is this year's . Should I still try ?
