IN SUMMARY: When Verringer was on the site, we paid for Premium and have had our benefits taken from us so MC-Market can make more money. I feel as if we should be rightfully compensated, or our benefits restored.

A couple months ago we (premium members) had an issue where there was a banner added to the top of our screens, as the photo below shows [no this is not just a petty gripe I have, in addition, this isn't the only advert]. When we originally bought premium, we were promised an ad-free experience - there was nothing in the terms/conditions (as I'm sure others can vouch, from back when Verringer was here) saying that this could change in the future [please note that this was not the only benefit changed]. I was pretty pissed off with this, as were a few other members, and thus a post was created where we had a discussion on this - this thread is now removed, for reasons unknown and (I believe) no contact from staff members about this to the public. I, personally, find this really disrespectful considering that I paid for an ad-free experience, from what I thought was a reliable site, and then later find out that our 'benefits' are being removed/altered, and even some of them being removed just so MC-Market can get even more money by creating a new rank. Now I know some of you are going to say, "whats the big deal", which is fair enough but I don't think you see our perspective - we paid for something, and were in summary scammed; by MC-Market. If anyone makes up any crap about 'the site needs the money to keep it online', thats bull****, you really think someone would have bought it if it wasn't make a reasonable income? I'm not really active anymore on this site (because of many reasons), but I've shared what I've wanted to say, and you can all feel free to share your thoughts on the matter too.

PS * Please may I ask that no one gives the staff any excuse to remove/lock this thread, so keep it civil.

Edit: Oh, also, it would be nice to know why the previous thread was removed, if for any reason.

We were promised nothing from AdSense, nothing was said about Featured Ads. There's a difference.
Yes, that was changed after the previous post was made. When we donated (and actually a couple months back before the post was made, I believe), it said an ad-free experience - not just adsense free.

And now someone will comment about AdBlock

And then there will be a debate.

And then it will go back and forth.

And nothing will ever be done.
Whats wrong with adblock? I'm using it right now, even though its not really working with that ReliableSite banner for some reason. I paid for an ad-free experience, and that's what I except. But what exactly do you mean about just commenting on it?[DOUBLEPOST=1457119379][/DOUBLEPOST]
Xeron please read the TOS again. It clearly states Premium users get an AdSense-free experience. AdSense is displayed at the bottom for normal users. The promoted/featured advertisements are not removable as it helps MCM generate revenue.

They didn't scam us. We got what we were promised. You're overlooking this.
I refer you to my comment above in reply to Thematic.

I mean someone will now reply to this thread saying: "Use adblock! This is how you block the banner: Right click > Adblock > Block this ad". And then someone else will comment "It looks bad on mobile! I paid for an ad-free experience!". And then the other guy replies "They changed it to an "adsense free experience"! So stop complaining". And then someone replies "MCM scammed me I want an AD FREE experience" and then <okay, you get my point now>
Well, that's why I'm hoping that we can have a more civilised discussion here. I think it is very wrong that they removed the previous thread (to, probably, benefit them so that they would not have to deal with this), and even more wrong that they think that this is the right thing to do.

That's an adblock detection issue, and you can add a custom filter.
Stop bitching? You're kidding right... have you read anything I've said? I don't want to start an argument, but I'd appreciate it if you understood why when a site designed for marketing and scam-prevention scams you, that it's bad.

a site designed for marketing and scam-prevention scams you

The benefits are clearly outlined before purchasing. And the site isn't designed for scam prevention, although it offers a free scam resolution service which is powered by the free time of willing individuals who have to sit through and painstakingly review each individual case. Something which is harder than it sounds.

Yes, they were, your point being? Fair enough I'll agree there, doesn't change the fact that the site itself (or the people who own it) scammed us.

You just contradicted yourself, Sherlock.
I now see why other threads were locked, and why this one should be too.

It is really not that big of a deal, a banner promoting a staff members business, which if it is not micks, the staff is working for free? dealing with a lot of you moaning over little things, the staff member deservers it.

Just grow up please, stop moaning, moaning wont get you anywhere irl so why try it on the internet

I'm not seeing how you're benefitting the thread, just seems as if you're trying to personally attack me now? I've admitted my mistake, something that I hope the people in charge of this site can also do and fix. And that reason being? Also the thread wasn't locked, it was removed.

Pointing out the fact that you contradicted your whole argument is not a personal attack against you.

It may be little things, but it does not change the fact that I paid for something and I, as well as others who have paid for it, deserve to have what they paid for. If you paid for an OG name with a cape, and I sent you it without the cape, would you be 'moaning'? I sure as hell would. Now sure, it's only $10, but then you look at how many people paid for this and more importantly to me personally what else I could have/rather would have done with that $10? I sure as hell wouldn't want to spend it on here, that's for sure.[DOUBLEPOST=1457120698][/DOUBLEPOST]

No but the sarcastic remark is. Just ignore my comment, let's get back on track here. Also, it wasn't my whole argument, it was half a sentence in reply to your first comment.

I also was one of those few people who was really upset back when they turned ads on for premium... I also asked staff why that thread (you mentioned) was removed and if i recall correctly i didn't get clear answer... Keyser Soze TOS was changed shortly before they turned ads on...there was even screenshot posted by one user with old TOS (where it said add free experience) but thread got deleted...how unfortunate. Also thread included poll for removing adds and in just few hours it got 50-70 votes for removing adds.

Basically my conclusion is: If i'm not mistaken that in TOS there is rule which states that rules can be changed in any time which means they can do whatever they want and site users can protest as much we want but nothing will change...

Well, there is something we can do. You just said that they changed TOS, something I don't even believe we first agreed to (it wasn't the most formal thing back at the beginning) [I'm referencing the part about change in TOS, not the TOS itself]. Also, I'm sure that they added that rule after people like me and maybe yourself 'donated' to the site. If what you're saying is right, then I think it is clear that staff are trying to keep their money-making methods away from members of the site to benefit only themselves.
