MCM Alternatives

So recently there has been a huge surge in these MCM alternatives.

It seems everyone wants to be the proud owner of their own virtual lego marketplace. Most of these have sprung up out of spite of MCM, some because the owners we're banned over here and a few because they didn't like some of the rules here. All of them follow pretty much the exact same template as each other, looser regulations, less structured, more name colors & cheaper premiums, and they usually allow stuff like NFAs and have an unnecessarily huge staff
These sites all seem to be competing with each other for "Top ripoff site". I believe these are mostly just cash-grabs.

So, what I am looking for thoughts on is what you think these sites have any long term potential, what the effects of these "Ripoff sites" could these rip off sites cause, and what do you think should be done if anything at all?

These "competitor" sites aren't even really competitors at this point, and never will be. They're typically started by scammers because they think they can do MC-Market better than it is, but they simply can't. When MCM acquired MCSell about 15 competitors popped up and half of them have probably already been closed.

It's simply irresponsible for people to create these new competitor marketplaces as all of the scammers on MCM will flock there to scam innocent people again.

These new competitors are just some random banned guys from MCM making their own "marketplaces". They aren't worth anything and will never be as big as MCM.

Also, now that I think about it every marketplace I know is owned by a member who is not banned on mcm.

I'm just downright pissed off by the number of users who think they can download a couple nulled addons and whack together a site. People just create competitors as a cash grab and don't realize that a site that's aimed in that direction will ultimately fail.

If it's not thought out, there's no reason why a site should be up in the first place. A true forum needs to be nurtured as a new community and has to ultimately be user-oriented. When you think you're the center of attention (as in doing it only for money and putting your users at risk with nulled software), you deserve to fucking fail.

There are literally so many I used to play a game called "How long do you think that competitor site will last?"
Needless to say, it was entertaining

Marzbar used to own a really shitty one, cant recall off the top of my head but there has been many.

I can agree with that, although most of their userbase is normally mcm banned.
