Hello everyone,
My name is avsterbone and I have been a member of the MCM community for over 1 year now. Throughout my time on MCM I have gained a "unique" reputation. Positive things such as my humor, funny YouTuber and the greatest MCM loan shark. As well as bad things such as a troll, MCM Keemstar and an attention whore. To be honest, I am pretty ok with my current reputation and it doesn't bother me that much. However, a side of me I hardly ever show is my caring side. if you have done business with me in the past (especially loans) you'll know I'm a hard ass when it comes to enforcing my TOS and will not hesitate to take action if things go south. I feel because of this attitude everyone has a very strict opinion on me which doesn't capture my whole character. Today that changes. Today I show the caring side of avsterbone.
A big problem with the internet is that scamming people is an extremely easy task. All it takes is for some asshole to tell you some bullshit and convince you to send them money. It's an experience every user of the internet will experience at one point in their life. We currently have a process that handles these types of situations, however the most punishment a user can suffer is a ban, but the plaintiff is still left with the loss. Most scams result in careless errors however there are those that are legitimately scammed. For example the GuyFromHellMC Scam Report - http://www.mc-market.org/threads/87228/ . This member was extremely reputable and no one thought this user would do something like this, but he did. The types of scams that would be covered by this fund would be for victims who tried everything they could to make the deal work (dealing with a reputable user, having an agreement, working with the other user, took precautions), but at the end of the day the user they were dealing with was a manipulative asshole who just had their eye on the prize. Although I may not be able to help every victim, helping someone is better than helping no one.
The Way This Works
The way this will work is rather complex as I want to make sure I am helping those who really need/deserve it. To start off, I will be looking over every active scam report and read into them to see what is happening. At that point, I will pass judgement on whether this person deserves financial help or not if the report results in the accused being banned. If the report concludes with the user the scam report made against being banned I will them PM the victim asking for more info on the deal. At that point I will judge if this person acted in a careful matter and the scam was not a result of negligence. If I find the victim truly had no control over the scam I will send the user up to 50% of the lost amount. The reason for not reimbursing the whole amount is to prevent abuse of this fund, and to help it last as long as possible. All of this will be done at my discretion and my discretion only. If you PM me asking for money you will automatically be banned from ever receiving financial help from this fund.

To start the fund off, I am going to put $100 of my own personal money in it. That means starting now I will be looking to help people. I have made a lot of money thanks to MCM and this is my way of saying thank you, by helping others that use this forum.
