(Previous MCM Weekly - https://www.mc-market.org/threads/486099/)

Hello, and welcome to MCM Weekly, your one stop source for important MCM info! I'm your host, User. This week will investigate recent claims made about a certain member of the community, a few high-profile bans (including a recently demoted staff member!), and the typical OGs brought to the market. Let's begin!

This week, luckily, has been quite slow in bans, with only 3 notable members banned, one of which is already unbanned (DanSells). However, the other two bans are of very well-known members.

Zelda will be the first to be covered. This ban was for "excessive violations of the rules", a.k.a too many warning points. Ironically, he had talked about warning points in several posts just days before his ban, saying:
After one long month of being suspended I’m back. Now at 70 warning points because I called a kid a retard thanks eclipse ❤️

If I get banned you know who’s fault it is
I agree, I get warning points when people piss me off and I call them retarded
The final straw was Zelda creating a second account by the name of Woofless in November of 2018. Also ironically, this account made a suggestion to increase the amount of warning points before a ban.

However, BucketOfSloths is an entirely different story. This ban, on the other hand, was for scamming a sum of $115 from Maddys Optiforce and Garth over loans. He was heavily late on both, and although he viewed the scam report on him, did not respond to it, resulting in his ban.
I believe we'll see him back soon. He was late on his first loan to me by around 2 weeks as well (but I was paid back). I feel like, if he was really trying to scam out, he could've done a lot more. Either way, we'll have to wait and see.

This week has had MANY an OG sold. However, the vast majority were listed by mEoWW, ban evading from his ban on smuj (and many other accounts). There is over a page of them, so I will not be covering them all, but you can view them under his linked accounts. The remaining OGs are as follows:
Jog (glockstar), Jaw (ww_ww), Z1 (Suffer), Virus (JamesBranco), Grab (glockstar), Song (Blueface), Tofu (Taezah), and Crime (Doggy Fanpage) [p.s, I've been asked to appraise Crime around 15 times now, I've already appraised it, pls stop asking <3]

Recently, a member of the community (Emily) has been thrust into the spotlight in a negative way, for numerous reasons. This has been a big part of MCM in the last few weeks, so I'd like to cover this in a factual, informative, non-biased way. Before we begin, I'd like to say: Please stop the witch-hunting. This is a Minecraft forum. It's not that serious.

Claims against iSource:
1. Catfishing. This can't be investigated, and I'm not going into it. Have your own opinions; I'm neutral.
2. Post/shout farming. This is somewhat minor, but considering claim 3, it's also hypocritical.
3. Minimodding. Again, not a huge issue in my opinion, but it can be considered annoying.
4. Staff manipulation/abuse. This is the most serious of the accusations, and it brings other members into the story as well, such as Capaldi.
5. General rudeness/conceitedness.

As I've said, I'm not going to be covering anything related to catfishing, so let's begin with #2, post farming. According to her, she is trying to pass Kram's shoutbox message count, with 3k messages a week.
There are also quite a few posts that come across as inherently "boosty". A few examples are below, but there are many more.

Next we have #3, minimodding. This can also be confirmed. Several screenshots are down below to prove this. The hypocrisy comes in the fact that she breaks rules herself, yet tells others to follow them (often breaking the rules within these posts, as they can be considered boosted posts.

On to #4, staff manipulation and abuse. I do not see any proof or even evidence of this anywhere. Most accusations of this mention Eclipse in particular. However, all punishments I've seen have been fair (even if the infractions usually do not result in a punishment, they are technically against the rules). Eclipse has punished others for somewhat small things in the eyes of the community (Zelda, mentioned earlier, received warning points from Eclipse for calling someone a retard, for example). However, she is just doing her job, albeit in a hypercritical way.

Finally, we have #5, general rudeness/conceitedness. This can also be confirmed. Examples are below.

However, iSource has also accused the community of two things, those being harassment and stealing her thread ideas. The concept of "harassment" is quite subjective, so it will be difficult to cover, but I'll do my best.

#1. Harassment: "Harassment, under the laws of the United States, is defined as any repeated or continuing uninvited contact that serves no useful purpose beyond creating alarm, annoyance, or emotional distress." According to this definition, it is true that she is being harassed by the community. There are several examples of this, such as the baseless accusations of catfishing.

#2. Idea theft: There is no real evidence to suggest that this is happening. On both occasions where she has accused others of copying her posts, there has been little similarities (the general idea of the thread may be somewhat similar, but everything else is entirely different).

Now that that's over, let me repeat: Do not witch-hunt her. Do not further the arguing and harassment. There's no need. This is a marketplace.

Thank you very much for bringing this to the communities attention. Those who aren't Premium don't see the ShoutBox and what is happening. Many have fallen victim to her ways, however staff are seeing more clearly what's going on and are taking action.

In the past I've done my best to keep my personal opinion on iSource out of any explanations I've written about the situation. However, I feel like explaining why I personally dislike her:

In regards to the whole catfish claims, I could care less what gender he or she is. It simply doesn't matter if you're a boy or girl on Mc-Market. We're all entitled to the same treatment regardless of our gender. The only thing I'll say about these allegations is that I've seen some comments/screenshots offsite that make me question her honesty on the subject.

Gender:
With that being said, the first thing that that I noticed that irritated me was how she would use her gender as both privilege and as a victim card of sorts. In the middle of discussions or arguments, she would out of nowhere bring up the fact that she was a girl, or if someone questioned whether or not she was a trustworthy user she would say that being a girl is what makes her trustworthy. Anyone who tries to use their gender to win an argument or put themselves above others is honestly just sad, and it means that you probably don't have any decent arguments to make. Later on down the line, when users began to question her actions and ridiculous ideas, she openly began stating things along the lines of "as a girl I am treated as a second class citizen on Mc-Market." I couldn't believe that I was reading something so incredibly ridiculous and false. Women on Mc-Market aren't subjected to men and are capable of doing anything a man can. Hell take Eclipse for example. She's a girl and is a staff member for crying out loud. While I'm speaking of Eclipse, it's worth mentioning that even Eclipse at one point told iSource that she can't use her gender as an excuse for everything (which is really telling when another girl has to call you out.)

Unethically Advertising RiftCoin:
The next thing that rubbed me the wrong way was how she would find ways to blatantly advertise her business on other peoples threads and make over the top claims that her business was superior to everyone else's. I find it quite pathetic to go on someone else's thread and try to advertise your business when it has no place being there.

Post Farming/Shit Posting:
Where do I begin... She doesn't even hide it? She has openly stated time and time again that her main goal on here is to pass everyone in shoutbox messages/messages and do it by not shit posting or farming. The problem with her goal is that she broke it the moment she made it. She began shit posting on almost every thread she commented on (at times with to two word responses.) She also made completely meaningless threads that offered absolutely nothing remotely discussion worthy (like making a thread asking if users wanted a hug.) I think what annoyed me even more was her denying her actions. She refused to admit that she farmed posts until staff members one day managed to get her to admit to it simply by joking with her about it.

Her Ego:
As shown in the original news thread, she believes she's better than everyone else and thinks she's the most known member in the community. When she started getting more messages than everyone per day, she began boasting about it at every possible opportunity and would talk down to people as if she were better than them. She also boasted how her threads would get upwards of 1,000 views which was completely pointless to just about every discussion. I had my own personal experience with this when I was criticizing her RiftCoin idea. Out of the blue she said that a post I had made got a lot of disagrees and therefore I wasn't allowed to criticize her ideas. Like what... How does someone actually think reactions matter in any way shape or form?

Mini-Modding
Simply put, mini-modding shouldn't even be allowed. It doesn't solve any problems and only serves to help farm further messages. I would argue that mini-modding creates more problems as it would only anger users that are being told what to do by someone with zero actual authority. iSource began doing this shortly before her suspension. she would sit in the shoutbox and constantly pretend to be a staff member, telling users that they would receive warning points if they didn't follow the rules. I'd be willing to bet she would report users she thought were breaking the rules if they didn't listen to her.

Suicide Claims
Right of the bat, suicide isn't something to make jokes about or use as a means to seek attention. My opinion is that suicide claims shouldn't even be on Mc-Market to begin with. The community cannot handle this kind of talk in a mature or respectful fashion and certain staff members have shown that they can't differentiate between someone seeking attention and making actual suicide claims. With 100% honesty, I don't believe iSource is suicidal in any capacity. As someone mentioned at the time, by no means is it normal to make suicidal comments/claims and then minutes later causally be appraising Minecraft accounts like nothing ever happened. As someone whose had loved involved with suicide it really disgusts me to see someone clearly using suicide as nothing more than a means to seek attention over an online forum.
