I remember when Supreme had no ads promised and then one day we had these obnoxiously large ads forced on us and then it got changed to "no adsense ads" instead of just "ads" and everyone was pissed off so it was undone.

He didn't create MC-Market. Verringer created MC-Market. Then BeBosny ran it and did a great job at making it the amazing marketplace you see today. Then BeBosny left (as he was working for Mick) and Mick has completely neglected it and it will only get worse.
Oh sorry for the delay. Where is this 'BeBosny' now? Ajdin: is this him?

I used to be a big deal on here but now irrelevant

I think running MC-Market is underestimated by a lot of people, including Mick himself. This is fine. It only becomes problematic when you don't want to admit it and when you simply give up on caring as Mick is showing right now.

Mick thinks he can throw money at some individuals (such as Justis)(I do assume he's paying him more for his efforts) and expect for things to work out. It doesn't work like that for several reasons.

Running a forum of this size which generates a lot of revenue requires a lot attention from all aspects. This includes but is not limited to:
- Technical aspect. Constant updates, database optimizations, security fixes, addon/plugin updates, bug fixes, etc need to be done. Looking at the current state of MC-Market, this isn't happening. After quickly checking, there are some addons on this site which are multiple versions behind which is completely unacceptable for a forum of this size. Thank god that the forum doesn't go down for several days anymore as it used to but that still doesn't mean that all is good. For example, I can't believe it took over a week for emails to be fixed. Realistically, this could have been fixed within an hour or 2 by switching SMTP providers because AWS is not the only company in the world which is capable of providing a service which sends emails.
- Community management. A forum of this size requires constant useful interaction with the community. This doesn't just mean hopping into shoutbox now and then to have a chat. First of all, this means NOT DISABLING YOUR PRIVATE MESSAGES TO THE ENTIRE FORUM. This is probably one of the worst things you can do Mick. Perhaps this is okay for a large hosting company or something but definitely not for a gaming forum. In addition to that, it includes involving yourself in general discussions of various topics. Mick only has basic responses to suggestions. While we're at suggestions... Suggestions have a massive backlog too. Currently, there are over 21 pages of suggestions(600+ threads). When I ran the forum, this never had more than 6 if I remember correctly. Suggestions aren't hard to do. They just take a lot of time and thought. I also remember at one point Mick had a go at me in shoutbox because he brought it down to 3 pages. He was criticizing ME for a suggestion backlog. Hah.
- Business aspect. Mick has done some great things to be fair. He added the top and bottom user-sponsored ads which is great. It's better than adsense and provides ads which are more suited for MC-Market. He's most likely making more money from that which is a + in this area. In addition to that, he runs frequent fundraisers which I think are for tax purposes, but no matter the intent, he's still getting a young audience to donate money to causes which is good. When making this change, before heavily relying on the ads manager addon, he should have made the necessary changes to the addon first because it tends to become slightly buggy, thus requiring Mick to make manual changes, thus creating more support requests, thus having a bigger backlog.
- Team management. I think this is one of the key failures. There are some people on the staff team which shouldn't be there. In addition to that, there's a lot of inconsistencies with certain situations. I'm not going to spread rumors or go into detail about this but from what I've heard, there's a lot of room for improvement here.
- Support. I'm not going to add much here but most of you know that the support system has never worked consistently with decent response times. People get frustrated. I did too when it took over 2 months for Mick to get back to me.

Ideally, the person running the forum should be able to cover all these aspects. Mick is failing at that, partly due to his constant inactivity or simply because he tends to be ignorant at times. He's still young and has a lot to learn but it's been almost 3 years since he's been responsible for MCM and you'd expect for him to have everything proper right now but it's worse than ever. Mick also thinks he can just hire people to resolve his problem. But it doesn't work like that. MC-Market requires time and effort to run. It's amazing how much he undervalued my work and what I did for this forum. To this day, I never received a simple "thank you" from Mick. Our last business interaction was him literally ripping the forum out of my hands.[DOUBLEPOST=1534781294][/DOUBLEPOST]
Oh cool! So you left mcm to start up a hosting company? Kappa
Besides running MC-Market at the time, I also had a fairly successful IT consultancy company so MC-Market was more like a sideproject. When I essentially got fired from MC-Market for trying to make an acquisition deal with Mick, I got approached by several people related to all sorts of projects. Between the offers was the previous owner of Anvilnode. I worked for him for a few months and had a fairly large influence on Anvilnode's growth and success. Ended up acquiring it and to this day, I think Anvilnode is still one of most reputable companies on MC-Market.

Agree with the majority of what you said

Mick, your negligence is unbelievable. Get someone to run the site for you.
I'm pretty sure someone does run the site for him

Nobody should be quitting their day jobs for a moderation / administration role on an online forum as volatile as MCM.

If the staff team was adequate then an administrator should only need to focus on administration duties such as:
  • New features
  • Forum fixes / updates
  • Staff scouting
  • Community engagement
  • Escalated support requests
  • Staff issues
There should be separate teams for resource acceptances, scam reports moderation / reports queue and chat as I believe there is - however they just don't function and the work leaks over to administration which is what you're mistaking for administration duties.

A webmaster isn't a forum administrator.

Lots of people are willing to 'man' the forum, it's just that the administrators don't scout anywhere near enough staff.

Usually people who don't respond to their scam report within a few days are instantly banned.
Scam report on Mick; handled by Mick. I just lost at least a quarter billion brain cells.
