I dont know weather or not the realms idea was Microsoft's or Mojang's, but it is still very bad. Now we got 2 forms of online multiplayer servers... Realms should just be removed as no one uses it.
I believe the EULA has been set in place for two reasons. The first is Microsoft/Mojang wants to gain total control over the community. Ever since Minecraft was created the community has been able to do pretty much whatever they want. This was fine at first, but they started seeing the community making profits off servers and services etc and they soon feel into a ideal driven by greed. The second is I think they're trying to take down servers to promote the Realms service. If they have everyone on Realms they control everything.
actually, it's really popular among the younger population. I have no problem with it, since it will reduce the amount of 10-y olds that try to start an actual server.
That's the reason why Minecraft will ever get better. In Minecraft's beginning, adults and teenagers were the dominate player base. Now the children have overrun the game and have taken that role. Children know nothing of how this game really works and they will blindly follow anything Mojang spits out with Minecraft on it.
They used to do that, back in 2011 we got to choos what Minecon cape we wanted. The community has no say these days because they recognize that the community is made up of children. Children should not be making any decisions for the game. Kids would make suggestions like "CHANGE GOLD TO BUDDER!!!! GUNS!!!![DOUBLEPOST=1460852634][/DOUBLEPOST]Have you guys also noticed how nobody asked for anything in the 1.9 update? It was all Mojang. Nothing added into 1.9 was absolutely needed. With this being said this update took over a year! A whole year wasted on a piss poor update that hurt the game. Old updates like 1.5 and 1.6 took far less time and added beneficial updates. Now we have gliding suits and hit cool downs. How long until Microsoft starts adding supple drops into the game so you can buy shit.
1.9 is full of mixed opinions honestly. In almost all server game modes it's ruined the overall experience. It's allowed users who have better gear to win almost any fight due to new members having little to nothing which encourages pay to win. When it comes to single player I've seen people like it and hate it. I for one hate it in single player too. Just yesterday I was on a 1.9 single player server and there was a group of skeletons. With the 1.9 hit cool down I couldn't even kill one before getting shot dead. In 1.8 I could have killed all of them and been near death. It makes things far too slow. I mean for fucks sake, I'm a sloth and this is too slow for me.
Minecraft teaches kids how to kill animals and other people for their items and commit other crimes such as Arsen and Robbery. I feel like Minecraft might be an ISIS recruiting tool.Certain aspects of the redstone mechanics can help younger students gain an understanding of logic gates. Other than that I do not see Minecraft providing any academic enrichment
