Minecon Cape Codes

So at the moment you can't buy or sell cape codes (yeah I just saw that suggestion). That just triggers me even more. Why, exactly, are we not allowed to buy and sell cape codes? Why can't premium or supreme members do it or something like that. Thats just stupid, because a lot of us want cape codes or are planning to buy them and with MCM making that rule it makes us go out of our way to find somebody instead of just saying "Hey looking to pre-order a cape code hit me up!!" In SB. If we can't sell cape codes why can we sell cape accounts? In fact cape codes have less of a scam rate than cape accounts and og accounts if you know how to use them because you can just put them on the account you want and then pay and the person will have no way of taking it back, so if you are dealing with a sketchy person just make them go first and you will be fine. Idk though what are your thoughts mcm?

Its safer than buying an account with a cape. With an account it can be taken back at any time (without the TID). With a code, once you have used it there is no risk of the selling taking it back.

Okay, so here's a scenario. Style wants to buy a cape code from me. Who goes first? If I go first, he could redeem the code and I'm out $200+. If he goes first, I could keep the money and never give the code, then he's out $200+. Another thing that could happen is he buys the code and the deal goes well, then a week later he charges back. See the problem? I know the same could happen with accounts but with a code you have no chance of recovering it or getting their account locked as payback. I just don't think it's a safe thing. If you can think of a foolproof way to buy/sell cape codes then throw it at me.

Here's my idea:

The system validates the code and posts the thread.

Upon purchase, the interested user simply presses "Validate" on the thread (rate limit on this) and the system says if the code is valid or not before proceeding with the sale.[DOUBLEPOST=1473087649][/DOUBLEPOST]Lyphiard you should agree because I'm making more work for you

I love this idea, don't get me wrong, but an extremely secure system would have to be put in place. If this could be made to work, perfect
