So, recently i've been noticing a lot of people here on the forum and also some YouTubers quitting Minecraft and play Fortnite or whatever other game, and i will include my self with this because i haven't played Minecraft in a month now lol.
My question is: IS MINECRAFT DYING???

Absoutley
Nice grammar m8 xD[DOUBLEPOST=1522870702][/DOUBLEPOST]
A game cannot be relevant forever, especially if there are more and more new fun games coming out. It is calculated that approximately 60 percent of players who played this game before, do not play it now.
That's exactly what has been in my mind for 3 years :D

I started playing Minecraft a little late during the 1.7 version. I played consistently up until a few months ago when I basically quit completely. I personally dislike that %95 of servers are only created for profit and don't truly care about the players experience. The same owners are creating new servers monthly, collecting donations, and selling or abandoning the project.

The game isn’t dying, that’s a misconception. Just because say a YouTuber quits does not mean all their fans quit. That is just 1 person out of the bunch;there will always be more uprising media creators to substitute. According to antvenom, the game still sells 4000 copies a day, which can easily be false however he is reputable.
You're right, but still a lot of people i know have quit Minecraft :D[DOUBLEPOST=1522871116][/DOUBLEPOST]
Woops, let's not talk about that!

It's a dying game but there are still a lot of people playing it so there's money to be made.

Yeah, same here. I've been kinda wanting to get back into it but there aren't any really unique servers out there that aren't p2w.

Definitely, however the game is so unique and can be utilized for more than just adventuring that it will be sustained for quite some time.
That's the beauty of Minecraft[DOUBLEPOST=1522871460][/DOUBLEPOST]

I think that's the only reason this forum still exists[DOUBLEPOST=1522871527][/DOUBLEPOST]

Yeah, lol[DOUBLEPOST=1522871668][/DOUBLEPOST]
Even though there are some popular youtubers leaving the game, Minecraft is nowhere near dying at all. In a recent interview, the game is said to have 74 million monthly users. Look at almost any other game, on steam or otherwise, this is a crazy amount. I don't think the game is going to die anytime soon, but I do agree some popular people have been/will continue to leave.

Interesting... I didnt now that, but that's a staggering amount of players! I also just play it 4 to 5 times a month just casually :)

Wait for the New update :D And see what happens.

To be honest, the newer games you mention above are mostly too flat and are missing an important aspect that Minecraft does offer. Minecraft is an open platform with endless possibilities. Creativity, pvp and minigame like. There isn't a similar game that offers what Minecraft does.

But I have to agree it feels like the overall MC Community is getting smaller due to hyped games and hyped youtubers playing those games. (I am guilty too)

And between us Dutchies... Our national player base died way to fast due to the main Youtubers passing on to other games(That are more profitable).

Another reason is obviously that most teenagers move on the moment they pass a certain age.

We shall see where Minecraft stands in a year :p
