I'm not sure if you can find it for free, however if you are looking for something cheap, PebbleHost offers $1/GB/Month hosting. I'm currently using that for a small server with a few friends and it's running fine

Aternos.org can be decent option for private/test server and it's free.

Before I knew about this community, me and my friends just hosted servers ourselves and played on them. However, you can get a server for incredibly cheap ($1/month), like I did to develop something just before Christmas. This is your best bet as obviously you get the panel (if you’re new to servers) and the support from your host too.

I recommend making a thread asking for a $1/GB server, although I believe PebbleHost offers it, and I’m sure other companies will too if you request it. Dann can correct me if I’m wrong on this one.
