Defiantly love the clean look of the website.

Hi Snowh,

I'm glad you like it!

Right...
>Implying every host oversells
>OVH reseller

>Implying you monitor your panel 24/7
>Taking the full credit for being an OVH reseller

>Dedicated "services"
>Dedicated IPs (Hence OVH reseller)

>Implying this makes it "secure"
>Implying this is "protection"

Hello Jesse,

I understand that every word is to be interpreted by the reader, however I'd like to address some of your interpretations.

1) We're not implying that every host oversells. We are just saying that overselling is a very common problem in the hosting market, as you may know, and we want our customers to know that won't be a problem with us.

2) I don't see the problem with OVH. They have great hardware options, great speed, and great prices, compared to others.
I don't know why people expect us to pay higher prices for worse hardware.
You might have noticed we dropped our prices quite a bit since people were pulling the 'OVH' card aswell.
You also have to understand that it's not as simple as putting down a few dollars and instantly having everything setup for you. A dedicated server can be costly, and requires certain skills to setup and maintain properly.
Also, would you be kind enough to explain how selling dedicated IPs is related to being an OVH reseller, as that confuses me a bit.

3) I admit, our panels are not monitored by a human 24/7, but that is not what the description says.
Our servers are monitored electronically - If an attack is detected, it will be automatically mitigated.

If you would like to further discuss MineHost with us or have anymore questions or comments, feel free to PM us, or contact us directly at MineHost. It

$5 for a transfer? The client could do it for free? If a host charges you for small things like that, they're in it for the money. I'm not saying it's wrong doing it for the money, but charging for a transfer of files, come on..

Hello Liam1

We do charge $5 for the transfer service, but only because it requires quite a bit of manual intervention of our staff.
Of course the client could transfer their files themselves, but average household download and upload speeds are around 2-3 MB/s and 1-2 MB/s, respectively.
Let's say you had quite a lot of files, data, and a large map, let's say maybe 10 GB, with those transfer rates it would take you nearly 3 hours just to transfer all the files, provided everything went to plan.
Don't forget that some people have even slower speeds, and may be limited to the amount of data transfer each month.
Whatever the case may be, we can provide for those people and transfer their files extremely quickly (provided the old host has a decent upload speed).

Thanks everyone
- JS

1) You could've put that another way.

2) The problem with OVH is that it isn't necessary to start "yet another hosting company". There are so many people that think they can earn some quick money by investing in a few servers from a cheap provider. Sure, OVH is fine, though why do we need another hosting company? At least use a more premium provider...

A dedicated server isn't costly, it's extremely cheap compared to other hosters, and your "investment" shouldn't be much of a problem if you know how to market good enough.

Dedicated IPs are related to OVH because you can get them so easily (128 for free?). You make it sound very unprofessional by calling it "Dedicated services", which is rather a word of advice.

3) So how do you know your servers are monitored "electronically"? You don't, because you don't own the data center. Yet again, it sounds like you're taking credit over what somebody else is doing for you (Hence, OVH monitoring the services, not your company). I look at my panel once a month, to be honest.

You also advertise as having a "1Gbit" port, while that's the burst. Guaranteed bandwidth is 500Mbit.

Ah, so SSHing into the server and downloading the files seems worth 5$ to you? If you can offer prices as low as 3$/GB, you may be able to do that for just a bit cheaper...

Hello Jesse,

I guess we have differentiating definitions of 'premium'. To us, OVH is a 'premium' provider.
Sure, there are some other providers out there that provide similar, sometimes better, hardware, but we feel comfortable with OVH, so that's who we use.

Yes, OVH makes it simple and easy to get additional IP addresses, as should most providers, but as far as we know OVH does not give out any free IPs (except 1 IPv4 and 1 IPv6 with the initial purchase).
I have no idea where you got '128 free IPs' from but if you would like to share that information with us that would be awesome and would save us a ton of money.

And I know our servers are monitored because I've written the scripts that monitor them.
I believe OVH does monitoring on their part, but it doesn't hurt that I've added in some of our own monitoring softwares.

As to the "1Gbit port": Clearly it is a "1Gbit port" as it can handle "1Gbit burst", as you mentioned.
If it was only a "500Mbit" port, then we would say "500Mbit port". But since it can support up to "1Gbit", I believe that qualifies it to be a "1Gbit port", don't you?

Finally, I've already discussed the details of the $5 transfer fee in an earlier message.
But most MC hosts don't support SSH, as you may or may not know.
So no, we don't just SSH into your server.

Do you have anywhere I can livechat to you like skype?
And roughtly how many customers do you have?

You can contact us through a Presale Inquiries ticket:
https://my.minehost.it/submitticket.php?step=2&deptid=2&urgency=Low

As to how many customers we have, I'm not at liberty to say, but I can say we are actively selling about 29GB of RAM. (Good so far for month #1 if you ask me)

Thanks everyone
- JS

As said above, you can further bother MineHost via PM or contact form on their website. This thread is no place for arguments.

Not to mention that anyone could just use MineZip to zip their own servers on shared hosting, which makes it easier to switch hosts.
Hello wesley023_,

That's a very neat plugin, but as I mentioned before:
Your server still might be several gigabytes, and depending on your internet speed, could still take hours to transfer.

Enough #REKT'ing. Let this guys offer their service. If you ain't interested, then f'k off.

That should be a standard — not a selling point.

I vouch for this. My server is currently being hosted by MineHost and I gotta say, probably one of the best server hosters I've ever been with. I 100% recommend them. 10/10

If you are on edge I highly recommend this server host, They are really low priced and that is a bid advantage for small server owners.
