I decided that instead of dropping money on block name games, I'd buy something that I'll use every day and actually enjoy. A high end monitor for my PC. I'l compiled a small list in the poll. Give it a vote and leave a comment if you've got the time.

A bit of context to help. I'm probably not going to use this for gaming, at least not more than occasionally. It's definitely not the biggest consideration for me. I'm more interested in these for text work. You know, reading and writing things.

Regards

High performance, consistent uptime and fast support. Minecraft hosting that just works.

1440p or 1080p - is the small amount of quality gained by having one of these monitors worth the price jump of hundreds and in some cases thousands? If you can afford it I still wouldn’t go for it.[DOUBLEPOST=1568937887][/DOUBLEPOST]
Wouldn’t get the 8k as no games run 8k atm
Also this lol, you’d need a pc capable of running this display well which would also be costly which if you don’t have a rtx 2080ti I don’t see happening

If you're spending that much money on monitors, don't get 60Hz.

They don’t offer any higher than 60 if it’s 4k or higher
Not true. Did you look at my poll? There's a 27" 4K 120Hz listed there.

My bad. You know what I was trying to say though because above 4k you don't see any 8k 120hz monitors or say 5k 144hz monitors

What models are you looking at? You'll probably want to make sure the monitor has blue light reduction features, a flicker-free screen, and possibly reading mode (not very common in newer models)

I did some research and I'd recommend taking a look at the following-

Dell UltraSharp 32
  • IPS Display
  • Anti-Glare
  • Hardcoated
  • 8MS Response Time
  • High Energy Consumption
BenQ PD3200U
  • 4K Resolution
  • Large Screen, infinity edge
  • Requires a larger desk
Acer XR341CK
  • Curved display
  • Slender Frame
  • If you're looking for an immersive experience, this is your best bet!
  • Expensive
  • Relatively low pixel count
Thanks for the input! The most realistic thing for me would be something like the first 2 you've linked. A 4K screen at 32", without the high cost of any of the options on my list. I guess I kind just want to go all out because of how long I've been saving up for this display.

No they do exist:

That’s $1,000. You can build a pc capable of using that monitor for that price

I'm pretty sure Red can afford it. If u make a high tier PC like I did, it's pretty awesome to use
What are the specs of your and his PC? Must be an insanely beefy pc to be able to run 4k at 144hz

Figured it would be something high tier but you really can run 4k144 off a 1080?

Indeed. Every single monitor in the poll above is over $1K. Personally, I feel the monitor should get the most amount of money in your setup. It’s the thing you’ll be staring at every moment you use said setup. Have you ever seen people buy TVs for their theater rooms that cost LESS than their Blu-Ray players and speaker systems? No, of course not. The screen is the most crucial piece.
